Ready to be a change agent? As a Mechanical Engineer at Fiberon, you will drive continuous improvement efforts in the production of our industry-leading composite decking. Joining our dynamic Meridian Maintenance Team, you will focus on Safety Engineering, Continuous Improvement, Cost Reduction, Material Utilization, R&D Collaboration, and Capital Projects.

In this role, you will balance optimizing legacy equipment with deploying cutting-edge technologies. We solve complex problems through root cause analysis, FMEA, and RCM. Come work for an organization that values your contributions and empowers its associates to innovate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process Optimization: Optimize current production processes and identify emerging technologies for future implementation.
  • Mechanical Design: Develop mechanical designs and define precise project requirements using 2D and solid modeling CAD tools.
  • Equipment Management: Evaluate, test, and modify equipment to maximize safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Product Launches: Ensure successful evaluation, testing, validation, and launch of new materials, processes, and products.
  • Safety Advocacy: Actively support and advance health and safety practices across all business operations.
  • Data & Reporting: Analyze operational data, interpret technical trends, and provide timely project reporting to stakeholders.
  • Team Mentorship: Train, develop, and mentor colleagues within your area of technical expertise.


Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a mechanical or manufacturing engineering role.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD (2D & Solids); knowledge of Ignition and Allen Bradley PLCs is a strong plus.
  • Continuous Improvement: Demonstrated application of CI methodologies, root cause analysis, FMEA, and RCM.
  • Project Management: Proven experience managing engineering projects from scope through to execution.
  • Environment: Working experience within a technical product production or industrial manufacturing facility.


Additional Information

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $70,000 USD - $110,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.
