  • Serve as the technical authority reviewing mechanical design packages developed by Architectural & Engineering (A&E) firms. Evaluate designs for technical feasibility, maintainability, and compliance with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and DoD standards.
  • Provide on-site engineering support during the construction phase, including the review of material submittals and RFIs. Ensure contractors adhere to specifications and safety protocols.
  • Lead or witness commissioning activities for new mechanical infrastructure to ensure systems are integrated, balanced, and fully operational prior to turnover.

Facilities Operations & Maintenance
  • Design, operate, and maintain essential mechanical systems including industrial HVAC, high-pressure compressed air, process piping, and industrial ventilation to support ammunition production.
  • Perform inspections and root cause analysis (RCA) to proactively resolve mechanical failures, reduce downtime, and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Partner with safety, production, and environmental teams to ensure all systems meet compliance requirements including OSHA, ATF, EPA, and DoD regulations specific to ammunition manufacturing.
  • Maintain up-to-date system drawings (P&IDs), standard operating procedures, and maintenance records.

  • Working knowledge of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) is highly preferred. Must be familiar with NFPA, ASHRAE, and OSHA codes, as well as ATF and DoD facility safety standards.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification with relevant construction/A&E experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, CMMS (Maintenance Management Systems), and engineering documentation tools.
