Full Job Description
As a Stress Analyst you will be responsible for performing preliminary and detailed level stress analysis of missile flight structures and mechanisms, electronic components, and ground support equipment using standardized processes and tools. You will work in a multi-disciplined team environment to help with structural design trades and preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: • Performing stress analysis using finite element analysis methodologies, classical hand calculations, and relevant digital tools (ie: Matlab, Mathcad etc.). • Generating stress analysis technical memorandums and reports to support data packages, peer reviews, and external customer reviews. • Preparing technical charts and represent the organization in design reviews and outside contracts. • Supporting structural test definition, requirements development, on-site test support, data reduction, and data correlation. • Collaborating with design engineers in developing the most practical design, and selection of materials for primary and secondary structures with adequate structural margins of safety, good load paths, low weight, and high producibility. This position is contingent upon contract award expected in Sep 2026. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines. Basic Qualifications • Experience with a finite element modeling tool - Abaqus CAE or NX Simcenter 3D are preferred. • Knowledge of spacecraft or aircraft structural dynamic methods and testing. • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace program or equivalent from an accredited college/university and/or equivalent education or experience. • Willingness/ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret, US Citizenship required. Desired Skills • A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position. • Static, vibration, acoustic, modal, or shock analysis/test experience. • Non-linear, fracture & fatigue, and buckling analysis experience. • Mechanisms, antenna, electronic component, ground support, hoisting, and test support equipment, and composite materials analysis experience. • Experience evaluating designs using rigid body or flexible body analysis methods and tools. • Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently. • Creativity/innovation to tackle issues related to anomalous performance of any aspect of a mechanical system. • Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform structural analysis. • Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment. • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice • Active or Current Top Secret clearance Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00 The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Please note that the salary information listed is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market(work location) and business considerations when extending an offer. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics. • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
