Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer (167115) at Atlas Copco Compressors LLC, your role is vital to design reciprocating compressor valves and apply technologies which interface with existing compressor applications to meet performance targets or retrofit requirements. Design with metals, plastics, and composites using different manufacturing processes. Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals. Select suitable material based on application - strength, corrosion, hardness, machinability, and cost. Design components or functional systems and modify existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, industry standards, customer requirements and related specifications. Design, build, and operate custom test rigs to determine performance of components, to calibrate analytical codes, and to prove design concepts. Participate in continuous improvement of assigned product line (design, simplification, standardization, documentation).
