The impact you'll makeAs a Mechanical Engineer at Lam, you're designing and defining cutting-edge mechanical and electro-mechanical systems. Your role involves feasibility studies, testing, and guiding teams in detailed design and fabrication. You provide the crucial design information needed to shape our technology's packaging.
What you'll do- Support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept to productization including conceptualization, designing, CAD modeling, development, and test/validation.
- Designs components using variety of metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings.
- Ensure documentation aligns with SEMI, Lam standards, and industry best practices for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to create engineering requirements from marketing requirements to drive product development.
- Highly proficient in 3D Nx Tool or equivalent
- Experience in structural, thermal, and fluid delivery systems demonstrated thru theoretical analysis on paper. Must have completed multiple developments of system design that demonstrates working knowledge and use of thermal and structural FEA modeling.
- Experience in developing system P&ID, defining theory of operation for the hardware being developed, use of key problem solving and decision making tools, performing risk analysis.
What you'll do- Ability to juggle multiple projects in parallel as required occasionally.
- Must have extensive hands on experience.
- Develop and conduct feasibility studies and test plans to characterize and validate design performance.
- Prepare high-quality reports and technical presentations to clearly communicate design intent, evaluation, and validation to a diverse audience in design reviews.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions can be manufactured with high-quality, cost-optimized, and to requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers
Who we're looking forMinimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 12+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 10+ years' experience
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.
Preferred qualifications- Experience in Semiconductor industry is a plus.
- Experience in leading projects, or problem solving while managing time and multiple priorities.
Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
SalaryCA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $146,000.00 - $311,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
