Crane Nuclear is hiring a
Mechanical Design Engineer for our Twinsburg, OH location.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Working with the Commercial Products Technology Team, comprised of engineers supporting the Reuter-Stokes Radiation Monitoring, Industrial Sensors, and Downhole Technology product lines, to develop detectors for harsh environment applications
- Developing and/or reviewing detailed component and system designs to meet new product specifications
- Ensuring component and system designs are analytically robust, and empirically tested and verified
- Ensuring that proper DFSS and DFM rigor has been applied throughout the design process, in collaboration with other Technology team members and other functions
- Coordinating multiple project tasks with project managers and functional managers.
- Working directly with the respective Product Line Leader, Quality, Manufacturing, and other Functional Teams to ensure products meet internal and external requirements, start to finish, and provide for continued growth of the product line.
- Fostering a creative environment; allowing for new ideas while embracing speed and excellence.
- Leveraging, expanding, and creating design best practices
- Supporting technical discussions with customers as needed
QUALIFICATIONS- Have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or similar field.
- 2-3 year's experience in Design Engineering experience (Sensors Design preferred) desired.
- Experience with New Product Design is plus
- Experience with a CAD package (SolidWorks preferred)
- Experience with an ERP system such as SAP is a plus
- Experience with product development processes (Stage-Gate is preferred) product development process
- Desired skills: Problem solving, translation of cross-functional inputs into design outputs, design for regulatory compliance and product safety, requirements decomposition, technical report authorship
- Professional certifications held or in progress are a plus (FE, EIT, PE, or other).
