A mid-level Aerospace Mechanical Design Engineer job in Loveland, OH is currently available at Belcan. This is a direct, full-time position with benefits. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field and between 3 and 7 years of mechanical design experience, preferable in a manufacturing environment.

Job Duties:
The engineer will support the design, drafting, and overall development of gas turbine tooling including molds, assembly aids, fixtures, etc. Leveraging NX, Solidworks, and Teamcenter, designers will take full ownership of tool/hardware definition from concept through release, delivering 3D models and drawings that support further manufacturing, assembly, and testing of multiple propulsion systems and their components. Engineers will be working in a manufacturing environment and will be responsible for supporting the development of advanced manufacturing processes and documentation such as those used in additive manufacturing and investment casting of aerospace componentry. Additional responsibilities include driving process and productivity improvements for both new and existing tools/hardware. Designers will collaborate closely with propulsion, simulation, metrology, and quality teams to ensure configuration control, technical acceptance, schedule alignment, and consistent quality of all.

Required:
o Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering field from an accredited institution.
o 3+ years of experience designing gas turbine componentry and/or its associated tooling.
o Experience working with and designing molds, castings, 3D prints and their associated support tooling
o Candidate must have Siemens NX and/or SolidWorks CAD modeling and drafting experience.
o Candidate must have experience using and applying GD&T (ASME Y14.5) to their drawings.
o Candidate must have excellent mechanical aptitude skills.
o Candidate must be able to excel in a fast moving manufacturing and assembly environment.
o Candidate must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
o Legal authorization to work in the U.S. as a U.S. citizen.

Preferred:
o Proficient in using stackup analysis to determine component tolerances and also verify assembly fitment.
o Knowledge of and experuence complex mechanical systems and turbomachinery components.
o Experience designing non-conventionally shaped componentry such as those that require 3D printing over conventional machining.
o Experience designing furnace and automation tools and equipment
o Experience with FEA and other analysis software.
o Experience nTopology, Rhino, Magics, Fusion360 softwares.
o Familiarity with the operation of gas turbines and/or other propulsion system types.

Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $85,000 to $105,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
