Responsibilities

Experienced with frequent use and application of technical standards, principles and theories. Understand concepts and principles of FEA analysis. Understand the concepts between linear FEM analysis and non-linear transient dynamic analysis. Works under general supervision, providing solutions to technical problems of moderate scope/complexity.
  • Determines theoretical principles involved and applying advanced analytical and investigative methods and techniques. Build CAD models of complex systems.
  • Generate meshes on all parts of complex systems for FEA analysis and perform FEA analysis. Analyzes assigned tasks to provide estimates of manpower and material required to complete.
  • Develops new applications requiring appreciable originality and ingenuity, and complex test procedures for equipment and systems which are significantly different from existing designs.
  • Provides expertise and direction in the development and/or modification of computer-based scientific and technical software systems. Uses expertise to design develop, code, test, and debug software.
  • May work in one or several areas, such as software design, engineering evaluation or test, configuration management procedures, statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Provides analytical support and technical advice during the conceptualization, development, and implementation phases. Develops, releases and maintains documentation in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
  • Reviews, writes and edits reports such as evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, etc. to provide recommendations, conclusions, and other data.

Qualifications

  • BS 2-4 Years or MS 0-2 Years in one of the following degrees:
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Aerospace Engineering
    • Physics (emphasis in shock physics)
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance
  • Computer Science (emphasis in technical programing)
  • Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (including class/schoolwork): Abaqus experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Mesh Development (including class/schoolwork): Pointwise, Patran, Hyperworks experience preferred
  • Familiarity with CAD (including class/schoolwork): CREO preferred
  • Fimular with MATLAB and/or Python
  • Fimular with MS Office Products
  • Fimular with C, C++, Fortran, Cuda

Equal Pay Act

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
