What We Are Looking For

Install, operate, and maintain natural gas measurement and control equipment according to Kinder Morgan and industry standards with an emphasis on accurate measurement and safe operation of all facilities.

What You Will Do

  • Install, inspect, test, adjust, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and remove advanced measurement, control and regulation equipment, SCADA systems and gas quality equipment.
  • Detect measurement error, correct volumes as needed and provide supporting documentation for corrections.
  • Monitor gas volumes through the measurement system, ensure all corrections are applied and proper qualities are applied.
  • Interpret and apply electrical and electronic schematics pertaining to electronic flow measurement and measurement electronics.
  • Assess all facets of assigned facilities to ensure accurate measurement and maintaining the company lost and unaccounted for gas and product with a high degree of ownership within the established corporate goals.
  • Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
  • Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
  • Perform audits of custody transfer and control data when necessary.
  • Complete all applicable documentation and record keeping.
  • Identify and report unsafe conditions and utilize stop work authority to correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.
  • Respond to call-outs and work overtime as necessary including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What You Need

Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Associates degree in a technical field and/or at least 3 years equivalent work experience.

Required Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Codes.
  • Experience with electronic test instruments.
  • Knowledge of natural gas and liquid chromatography.
  • Experience with safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high pressure systems.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic equipment used in gas and liquid product measurement and control.
  • Knowledge of AGA, API, and GPA measurement standards.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license that meets company insurability requirements.
  • May be required to possess a commercial driver's license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations.
  • May be required to achieve and maintain operations qualifications and certifications as required to perform specific job duties.
  • Must have a strong focus on job safety to complete all assigned work tasks in a safe and accident free manner.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are necessary.
  • Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, operating systems, and have the ability to learn company software).
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Work well with a team, take direction from supervisors, have regular and predictable attendance and follow work rules.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain all required operations qualifications and job progressions.
  • Ability to learn and perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
  • Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years gas and/or liquid pipeline measurement working experience.

Working Conditions:
  • May periodically work in low-lit areas.
  • Must be able to frequently enter confined spaces, to climb and work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways.
  • Depending upon the location and workload, travel may be required.
  • Must live within a reasonable response time to reporting location as determined by local management (45 minutes from reporting location).
  • May be required to carry a company-provided communication device to respond both during working and non-working hours.
  • Must be able to drive and work in all weather conditions including extreme hot or cold.
  • Position requires standing, walking and sitting while working either indoors or outdoors.
  • Must be able to consistently lift a minimum of 20 lbs. at time in awkward positions.
  • May have to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • May maneuver 100 lb. products with the assistance of safety devices such as bottle or hand carts.
  • While performing the job you will be required to lift and carry, pull or push, reach, squat, kneel, and/or climb ladders or stairs.
  • Physical dexterity, hand/grip strength, depth perception, and any other physical attributes that enable the employee to perform the job safely.
  • Ability to use hand tools and equipment, repetitive hand use requiring grasp and twisting motions.

Pay Range

USD $40.00 - USD $55.00 /Hr.
