Job Summary- Seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to provide comprehensive cloud software research, development, and engineering support for mission-critical applications operating in large-scale distributed environments
- This role supports the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and system design through development, integration, testing, deployment, sustainment, and long-term enhancement
- The Software Engineer will work on complex cloud applications and distributed computing platforms designed to process and analyze very large data sets
- The ideal candidate brings deep software engineering experience, strong technical leadership, and the ability to design scalable, high-performance solutions in secure mission environments
Primary Responsibilities- Software Design and Development
- Perform end-to-end software engineering activities including requirements analysis, design, development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis and resolution
- Design and develop scalable software solutions supporting large-scale distributed and cloud computing environments
- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues and implement sustainable software enhancements that improve system performance, reliability, and maintainability
- Design and implement solutions using massively parallel computation models and NoSQL architectures to support large-scale data processing
- Develop and extend Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) and Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products to meet mission and project requirements
- Perform object-oriented analysis and design for complex software systems
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, ontologies, schemas, data models, and interface specifications
- Integration, Testing, and Deployment
- Develop and execute unit, integration, system, and end-to-end tests
- Develop and implement test plans, test scripts, and validation procedures
- Integrate software components, data services, databases, and external technologies within distributed environments
- Implement and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Deploy and sustain software applications in production environments
- Support performance tuning, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and operational issue resolution
- Participate in software and architecture reviews to ensure solutions meet technical, security, scalability, and mission requirements
- Collaboration and Technical Leadership
- Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, data scientists, product managers, and mission stakeholders
- Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats.
- Provide technical guidance and leadership across software development efforts
- Support continuous improvement of engineering processes, development standards, testing practices, and system architecture
Required Qualifications- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university
- Four (4) additional years of Software Engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for the bachelor's degree
- Minimum of eight (8) years of software development or software engineering experience across the full software development lifecycle
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience developing software using high-level programming languages such as Java, C, or C++
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux environments, including Red Hat operating systems
- Demonstrated experience performing requirements analysis and design for at least one major object-oriented software system
Desired Qualifications- Graph Data Modeling and Performance: Experience designing and optimizing complex Neo4j graph schemas, including Cypher query optimization, index management, and APOC procedures for batch processing and large-scale data transformation
- Enterprise Java Microservices: Advanced experience with the Spring Boot ecosystem, including Spring Data, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud, with an emphasis on scalable, high-concurrency backend services and performance tuning
- Graph and Relational Integration: Experience integrating graph databases with relational databases or search technologies such as Elasticsearch to support polyglot persistence architectures
- Graph Analytics and Algorithms: Familiarity with the Neo4j Graph Data Science library and implementation of algorithms involving pathfinding, centrality, community detection, or other real-time graph analytics
- Advanced Analytics: Experience developing data-driven or event-driven analytics using rules engines or similar orchestration technologies
- Cloud Scalability: Understanding of large-scale cloud architecture and scalability patterns used in commercial cloud environments such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud
- Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Discovery: Experience with genetic algorithms, inference engines, or techniques for identifying latent patterns in extremely large data sets
- Specialized Data Processing: Experience with foreign language processing, multimedia exploitation involving speech, text, images, or video, or social network discovery
- Data Modeling: Experience defining and documenting complex ontologies, schemas, data models, and API specifications across heterogeneous environments
Exempt hourly position. 11 paid holidays, minimum of 3 weeks PTO, company sponsored group medical plan, company paid dental, vision, life insurance, and STD/LTD plans. Salary is dependent upon the candidate's experience and qualifications.
The pay range for this role is:
180,000 - 240,000 USD per year (NBP)
