The Maryland Department of Transportation, The Secretary's Office (MDOT TSO), is seeking a
Maximo IT Supervisor (IT Systems Technical Specialist Supervisor) within the Division of Information Technology. This position is responsible for providing supervision to the Maximo technical resources, providing WebSphere administration and Maximo application system administrator support.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:- Supervising IT Technical Specialists and Maximo Administrator contractors.
- Providing Maximo Systems administration support, including Add-On Modules for new projects to include other applications such as OpenText Content Server, Microsoft Dynamics SL, and MDTA Enterprise GIS.
- Providing technical and strategic guidance regarding the configuration and customization of Maximo including testing and implementing Maximo system upgrades.
- Creating, managing, and supporting reporting and reporting tools.
- Ensuring appropriate change management and release management practices are implemented throughout the complete system lifecycle.
- Developing strategies for high availability, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Ensuring documentation for the Maximo system is completed and updated for sustained support.
- Troubleshooting application problems including network, desktop, and infrastructure.
- Planning, designing, and developing improvements and new or advanced systems or applications.
- Designing and implementing security permissions.

You can learn about our amazing benefits here: MDOT Benefits QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology-related field to include course work in application, communication, database or operating systems software technology.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software.
*Selective Qualification: One (1) year of this experience must include supporting and maintaining IBM Maximo or Maximo Application Suite (MAS) application solutions.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Computer Systems Operations classifications or Computer Systems Operations specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
