Position Overview

The Maternelle & Lower School Instructional Support Teacher is a full-time faculty member who plays a vital role in ensuring instructional continuity and excellence across the Lower School. Working collaboratively with French and English teaching teams, this educator provides high-quality classroom instruction, supports student learning across grade levels, and contributes to the daily life of our bilingual, multicultural school community.

This position combines classroom teaching, instructional support, and faculty collaboration.

This is a full-time, exempt faculty position reporting to the Lower School Principal.

The teacher is assigned to the Lower School for the full academic year and participates fully in the professional life of the school.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality instruction in French and English classrooms during planned and unplanned teacher absences.
  • Deliver lessons that align with the school's curriculum and maintain continuity of learning.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student growth and well-being.
  • Build positive relationships with students across grade levels and become a trusted member of the Lower School community.
  • Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, specialists, learning support staff, and administrators to ensure a seamless educational experience for students.
  • Provide small-group or individualized instructional support when classroom coverage is not required.
  • Support classroom management and reinforce school-wide expectations for student behavior.
  • Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional learning, school events, and other community activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with colleagues and administrators regarding student progress and classroom needs.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by supporting the evolving instructional needs of the Lower School throughout the school year.


Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred.

This is a Full Time, Exempt position. The salary range is $65,153-$110,975 based on experience and qualification.
