Position Description

Reporting to the MP&L Manager, the Production & Materials Planning Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the master build schedule, purchasing productive and non-productive supplies, working closely with suppliers, controlling inventory and associated cost. Through communication with and service of customers, develop relationships that distinguish Modine from our competition. Reporting to this position are the following functions: production planning, materials planning, & cycle counting

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and maintain master production schedules based on customer demand, forecasts, and capacity planning.
  • Monitor production performance and adjust schedules to address constraints, material shortages, or changes in demand.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing supervisors to resolve schedule conflicts and improve throughput.
  • Achieve exceptional on-time delivery (OTD) of products to customers by providing timely availability of parts and material through scheduling of production and inventory planning schedules.
  • Oversee material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and packaging.
  • Maintain inventory levels within targets while preventing stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Review demand forecasts and consumption trends to adjust material plans accordingly.
  • Work closely with purchasing and suppliers to expedite or reschedule materials as needed.
  • Develop personal and department expertise in SAP. Support plant KPI goals and act as a mentor for the Production & Materials Planning group.
  • Assign workloads, set priorities, and ensure adherence to planning standards and procedures.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide training to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.


Required Education & Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and production planning principles.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and planning tools.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field (preferred) and a minimum of five years' experience in materials or production planning systems, purchasing, or equivalent.


WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Manufacturing or plant-based environment.
    May require occasional overtime or schedule flexibility to support production needs.
