Job Purpose: The Production Planner is responsible for production planning and coordinates production workflow for multiple products while prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. Will take a lead role in continuous improvement, product flow and capacity improvement to improve the overall efficiency of manufacturing.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities: - Analyzes customer demand and optimize build plans for specific products, keeping materials and resource requirements while balancing material availability, resource constraints and capacity.
- Establishes and maintains planning attributes for new products and parts within the ERP system to ensure accurate setups.
- Audits BOMs to ensure structural integrityand alignment with manufacturing and costing strategy.
- Periodically reviews critical ERP planning attributes (e.g. lead times, safety stock) to sustain system accuracy and plan stability.
- Manages ECOs developing implementation strategies and executing changes across the supply chain and production floor.
- Releases required work orders in a timely manner and promptly closes them on completion after reconciling variances.
- Proactively monitors materials shortages and production flow thru the plant to ensurebuild plan remains on schedule.
- Plans and directs Production and Inventory Control for Operations to ensure customer commits and inventory objectives are met.
- Coordinates Operations planning process to ensurematerial and capacity availabilitysupports both customer commitmentsand forecast demands.
- Leads the Inventory team in establishing and maintaining robust cycle counting programs and process controls to ensure perpetual inventory accuracy.
- Collaborates with the production team to execute theschedule and achieve on-time customer deliveries.
- Works directly with Purchasing to ensure purchased material is available to meet the scheduled requirements.
- Serves as the SME for the ERP system providing on-site technical support, writing ad-hoc reports, and staying current on system capabilities.
- Identifies and drives software procedural improvements to the Operations process to eliminate waste.
- Relays relevant information to management regarding material shortages, potential schedule interruptions, and possible equipment maintenance that would affect a smooth and timely production input
- Analyzes customer demand information, forecast, orders, labor, and material availability and develop a flexible yet efficient master schedule
- Reviews part availability including quality approval prior to scheduling
- Manage the issuance of purchase orders as recommended by the planning system or as requested by management.
- Manage PO approval process, PO revisions, supplier confirmation and storage of all purchase orders on a secured and shared site.
- Manages supplier bidding process with the creation of RFQs submission to suppliers and summary returned information as requested by the Director of Manufacturing.
- Controls Supplier's compliance to on-time delivery, terms and conditions, supply contracts and product specifications.
- Participates as needed in the Product Specification creation/revision process and facilitates execution with suppliers.
- Drive sourcing solutions for existing products as directed by executive management.
- Manage assigned products by maintaining or reducing costs of product components, packaging and finished goods
Education and Experience: - 2-4 years of related Materials Planner experience; preferably in a contract manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Industrial Engineering preferred.
- Good understanding of critical ERP planning attributes.
- Hands on experience in ECO planning and Implementations.
- Good working knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP software with regards to planning.
- Must be Advanced level of experience in Microsoft Excel.

Salary Range (annual): $70,000.00 -$95,000.00 Actual base pay within this range (determined at the offer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.
