Responsibilities

  • Lead a safe, high-performing warehouse operation by driving accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory Accuracy, and Productivity
  • Ensure uninterrupted material flow to production while optimizing inventory levels, service performance, and working capital
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and team members through performance management, training, succession planning, and employee engagement
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean/Kaizen initiatives, standardized processes, and data-driven decision making
  • Oversee inventory control, cycle counting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to achieve world-class inventory accuracy
  • Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Planning, Operations, and Logistics to ensure material availability and resolve operational issues
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards while fostering a zero-incident safety culture
  • Leverage ERP/WMS systems and KPI reporting to monitor performance, improve warehouse visibility, and achieve operational objectives

The Opportunity

The Materials Manager is responsible for ensuring the right material is available at the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity to support customer demand while optimizing inventory investment and working capital. This role leads and manages all aspects of materials operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material handling, and distribution, ensuring the efficient, accurate, and timely flow of materials across the organization. This position provides both strategic and tactical leadership, drives process discipline through clearly defined RACI ownership, and fosters a culture of safety, accountability, employee engagement, and continuous improvement to support operational excellence and business objectives.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience leading supervisors and/or managers in a warehouse environment (required).
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse or materials management
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, material flow, and warehouse operations
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems

Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Manufacturing experience
  • APICS, CPIM, or CSCP certification
