Materials Manager - Ruskin Manufacturing Plant - Dothan, ALOverviewWe are seeking a Materials Manager to lead and enhance our supply chain, inventory management, and logistics operations at our Dothan, AL manufacturing/fabrication facility. This role is critical in ensuring material availability, production efficiency, and on-time delivery to meet customer demands.
What You'll Do:Scheduling, Planning, and Customer Delivery- Coordinate with production schedules to ensure timely customer deliveries.
- Manage raw material availability and proactively adjust production needs to meet demand.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, and logistics teams to optimize capacity planning and minimize costs.
Inventory Management- Lead inventory control activities, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and demand forecasting.
- Oversee excess and obsolete inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels.
- Coordinate movement and scheduling of materials across internal and external processing location.
Warehouse & Logistics Oversight- Manage inbound and outbound transportation in alignment with company logistics policies.
- Ensure warehouse operations have the necessary resources to execute efficiently and safely.
- Partner with supplier quality teams to drive compliance and improve logistics processes.
Supplier Scheduling & Performance- Optimize supplier schedules to improve production flow and cost efficiencies.
- Monitor supplier delivery performance, address escalations, and maintain smooth material flow.
- Negotiate and manage agreements and purchase orders for critical materials.
What You'll Bring:- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (or combination of experience)
- 5 - 7 years of experience in materials management, supply chain, or production environments
- Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership abilities
