Materials Management Provisioning Analyst

Allentown, PA (Global HQ)

This materials specialist role is responsible for all aspects of the spare parts provisioning process supporting Sale of Gas and Sale of Equipment Operate & Maintain projects throughout North and South America. The role ensures critical spare parts requirements are accurately identified, procured, and managed to support safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and analyzing equipment data for new and existing projects to develop and maintain equipment Bills of Material (BOMs) in SAP.

  • Determining appropriate spare parts requirements and recommended stocking quantities in accordance with approved sparing philosophies, operational requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Collaborating with Engineering, Operations, Procurement, and Project teams to ensure maintenance, reliability, and operational requirements are incorporated into provisioning strategies.

  • Supporting the development of spare parts cost estimates for new project opportunities.

 

Activities must be completed within project schedules and budget constraints to support successful plant start-up and long-term operational reliability. This role contributes directly to inventory optimization, cost savings, asset reliability, and downtime mitigation through effective spare parts planning and SAP master data management.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead provisioning kickoff meetings with project stakeholders to establish scope, deliverables, schedules, and spare parts requirements for new projects.

  • Review equipment documentation and apply existing Operations and product-line sparing philosophies to identify required spare parts.

  • Coordinate the material master creation and extension process, including submission of requests to the Coding Team for new material numbers.

  • Develop, maintain, and validate equipment spare parts BOMs in SAP for all applicable project assets.

  • Monitor, track, and forecast project spare parts budgets, and project completion status.

  • Support spare parts estimating activities for new project opportunities by working closely with Project Development Engineering, Operations, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, and equipment suppliers.

  • Establish initial safety stock for new plants by evaluating criticality, existing inventory, reliability considerations, and sparing strategies.

  • Identify opportunities to leverage existing inventory across facilities to reduce procurement costs and improve inventory utilization.

  • Participate in an on-call rotation supporting operational requirements during weekends and holidays approximately three to four times per year.

 

Preferred Skills / Competencies:

  • 5+ years’ experience in materials management, procurement, or related fields is preferred

  • B.S. in an engineering discipline or related subject area is preferred

  • Working knowledge of SAP, including the ability to navigate and utilize standard transactions, and retrieve and maintain data

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment lists, and vendor documentation

  • Inventory management and supply chain knowledge

  • Cross-functional collaboration and project management skills

  • Proficiency with Excel and data analysis tools
