Job Overview

The Materials Lead supports daily materials operations by setting a strong example, guiding team members, and ensuring all receiving, material movement, and inventory activities are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule. This role partners closely with the Materials Supervisor to maintain inventory integrity, uphold process compliance, and drive continuous improvement across materials workflows.

Responsibilities
  • Assign kits and monitor task completion to support production schedules and ensure material availability
  • Support and guide receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation, labeling, and system transactions
  • Oversee and audit material movement to maintain proper handling, storage, and traceability
  • Train and coach team members on standard work, safety practices, and material handling procedures
  • Audit receiving, inventory, and material flow processes to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Perform and assist with cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accuracy and accountability
  • Investigate and help resolve inventory discrepancies related to receiving, movement, or system transactions
  • Partner with the Supervisor on planning and executing continuous improvement initiatives focused on materials, inventory, accuracy, and workflow efficiency
