About This Role:The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the production schedule is materially feasible across assigned commodities. Working directly from the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and released Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), you will run MRP, maintain Clear-to-Build (CTB) status, manage shortages proactively, and own the day-to-day supplier forecast and commitment cadence to keep supply and demand in sync.
This role serves as the operational engine connecting production planning, physical inventory, and strategic sourcing. The ideal candidate brings a strong grasp of MRP logic, thrives on data accuracy, and proactively identifies material constraints weeks ahead of floor execution so that shortages are resolved before they ever impact production schedules. This is a
Full-Time position.
What You'll Be Working On:- MRP Execution & Requirements Netting: Run MRP and BOM explosions against the MPS, netting gross requirements against on-hand, on-order, and in-transit material.
- Clear-to-Build (CTB) Coverage: Maintain and refresh CTB coverage status by SKU and work center for assigned commodity areas on a standing cadence.
- Proactive Shortage Escalation: Identify potential material shortages well ahead of floor execution, escalating to Strategic Sourcing/Procurement for expedite or dual-sourcing actions while tracking mitigation status.
- Supplier Forecast & Commitment Cadence: Share rolling forecasts with suppliers, secure lead-time and capacity commitments, and feed commits back into MRP within negotiated commercial frameworks.
- Planning Parameter Management: Set and maintain item-level ERP planning parameters (order policy, lot sizing, lead times, safety stock, make/buy flags, and time fences) at MBOM release.
- Inventory Accuracy & ABC Classification: Partner with Materials Management to reconcile ERP balances against physical stock, maintaining ABC usage classification data by part number.
- S&OP Forum Representation: Represent the material and CTB constraint view during monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) reconciliations.
What You'll Bring to the Team:- Experience: 2-5+ years of dedicated experience in material planning, MRP execution, or supply/demand planning within a manufacturing environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- System & Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of MRP logic, complex BOM structures, and ERP planning modules (e.g., Acumatica or similar systems).
- Supplier Coordination: Comfort working directly with suppliers to communicate rolling forecasts and secure firm delivery/capacity commitments.
- Data & Analytical Skills: Strong Excel and data manipulation skills to manage shortage tracking, CTB models, and net-requirement feeds for Procurement.
Bonus Points:- APICS / ASCM certification, such as CPIM (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management).
- Experience in hardware manufacturing, data center infrastructure, or complex equipment assemblies.
- Hands-on experience using Acumatica ERP.
