This is how you will grow:

The Material Handling Engineering Project Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end planning, engineering, procurement, and implementation of material flow systems within a manufacturing environment.

This role serves as the single point of accountability for delivering integrated material handling solutions across different manufacturing sites, and internal logistics areas. The position combines technical engineering depth with program leadership, ensuring solutions are lean, cost-effective, and aligned with overall manufacturing strategy.

The Project Manager operates in a cross-functional environment, coordinating engineering workstreams, managing suppliers, and driving execution from concept through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Delivery
  • Own full lifecycle delivery of material handling systems from concept development through launch and handover
  • Act as the primary interface with customer / internal stakeholders, providing clear reporting on progress, risks, and financials
  • Lead program governance including:
    • Schedule management and milestone tracking
    • Budget control and forecasting
    • Risk identification and mitigation
  • Ensure alignment with program objectives including lean manufacturing and cost optimization targets

Engineering & Technical Oversight
  • Ability to lead and execute development and validation of:
    • Material flow concepts and layouts
    • Facility and equipment requirements
    • Warehousing, kitting, sequencing, and line-side delivery strategies
  • Creation and management of the PFEP (Plan for Every Part)
  • Ensure integration of material flow into master plant layouts
  • Guide engineering teams through:
    • Conceptual design
    • Detailed AutoCAD layouts
    • Material flow analyses and simulations
    • Readiness and validation activities
  • Drive design decisions based on efficiency, throughput, and value-added analysis

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Lead and coordinate multiple workstreams, including:
    • Material Flow Engineering
    • Facilities & Equipment Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering interface
    • Procurement
  • Interface with:
    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Production Control / Supply Chain
    • Operations
    • External system integrators and equipment suppliers
  • Ensure seamless integration between product, process, and material flow


Requirements
