Material Asset Manager

Washington, DC / Hybrid (3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote) / 10% Travel / Full-Time

Position Overview

Crown Innovations is seeking an experienced Material Asset Manager to support asset accountability, inventory management, procurement coordination, and government property administration activities in support of FAA programs and organizational operations.

This role is responsible for maintaining accurate custodial records for accountable and non-accountable personal property, facilities, equipment, and government-furnished property within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Real Estate and Asset Management System (FRAMES). The selected candidate will coordinate asset acquisition, tracking, transfer, inventory, storage, and disposal activities while ensuring compliance with government regulations, contractual requirements, and organizational policies.

The Material Asset Manager will also be responsible for organizing, maintaining, and optimizing centralized storage areas, ensuring efficient utilization of space, proper asset accountability, and inventory accuracy. This role will serve as the primary authority regarding storage organization, equipment disposition, inventory controls, and material management practices.

This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in improving asset accountability, inventory controls, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction across FAA programs.

Key Responsibilities

Asset & Property Management • Provide comprehensive asset and material management support including budget planning, procurement coordination, equipment identification, shipping and receiving, transportation logistics, storage management, inventory control, and government property administration
• Administer and maintain asset management systems, including the FAA Real Estate and Asset Management System (FRAMES)
• Maintain accurate accountability records for accountable and non-accountable government property throughout the asset lifecycle
• Coordinate and process asset acquisitions, transfers, assignments, adjustments, surplus actions, and disposal activities
• Prepare, maintain, and audit records related to purchases, inventory transactions, transfers, surplus property, disposal activities, and government-furnished equipment (GFE)

Inventory Control & Storage Management
• Conduct periodic physical inventories and wall-to-wall audits to verify asset accountability and reconcile discrepancies
• Organize, maintain, and continuously improve storage facilities, inventory locations, and material staging areas
• Establish and maintain efficient storage systems to maximize accountability, accessibility, and operational effectiveness
• Serve as the primary point of accountability for storage room organization, inventory placement, asset tracking, and disposition decisions
• Coordinate equipment tagging, tracking, shipment preparation, delivery notifications, storage assignments, and inventory placement
• Ensure proper inventory control procedures are followed for all assets and materials

Procurement & Logistics Support
• Research equipment and software solutions and prepare purchase recommendations, cost analyses, and alternatives
• Coordinate with procurement and finance personnel to support best-value acquisition decisions
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, transportation, and delivery of equipment to FAA Logistics Centers, regional offices, government facilities, contractor locations, and other designated sites

Reporting, Analysis & Compliance
• Generate and analyze inventory, utilization, depreciation, audit, and lifecycle management reports
• Support internal and external audits by providing inventory verification, documentation, reconciliations, and responses to audit inquiries
• Ensure compliance with financial controls, contractual requirements, government property regulations, and organizational policies
• Develop, recommend, and implement improvements to asset management procedures, inventory controls, and operational efficiencies

Training & Organizational Support
• Provide guidance and training regarding asset accountability procedures, inventory practices, and property management processes
• Assist with lifecycle planning, replacement forecasting, and budget development related to organizational assets and equipment
• Maintain confidentiality, security, and integrity of organizational records, systems, and assets
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience in asset management, inventory control, logistics, property management, procurement, government property administration, or related disciplines
• Eight (8) additional years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree
• Demonstrated experience organizing, maintaining, and controlling inventory, warehouse, storage, or equipment management environments
• Demonstrated ability to manage and complete inventory-related projects
• Ability to gather and analyze requirements from technical personnel and stakeholders
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently
• Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience utilizing the FAA Real Estate and Asset Management System (FRAMES)
• Experience supporting FAA programs or federal government contracts
• Experience communicating regulatory, technical, or complex information clearly through written, verbal, and graphical methods
• Experience managing warehouse, storage, inventory, or logistics operations
• Experience conducting large-scale inventory reconciliations and physical asset audits

Schedule & Travel
• Hybrid position based in Washington, DC
• Three (3) days onsite and two (2) days remote per week
• Work performed in office, inventory storage, warehouse, and government facility environments
• Position requires active coordination with FAA personnel, program staff, procurement teams, and management personnel
• Regular physical interaction with inventory, equipment, storage facilities, and asset accountability systems
• Approximately 10% travel required
• Travel may include visits to FAA facilities, logistics centers, government sites, contractor locations, and other designated locations

Compensation

Material Asset Manager - $80,000 - $95,000 annually

Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.

Crown complies with all applicable state and local pay transparency laws. The listed compensation range represents the good faith salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, geographic considerations, and business needs.
