JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently seeking a skilled engineering professional to join our team and support our Component Repair Cells in optimizing processes and enhancing operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Repair Cells in daily operations by developing production repairs, issuing approved deviations, and furnishing necessary technical instructions.
  • Introduce and incorporate required technical instructions into daily workflows.
  • Initiate, coordinate, and industrialize repairs approved by engine Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
  • Update and implement process improvement and cost-reduction programs within the Component Repair Cells.
  • Develop and establish repair standards as well as material salvage programs.
  • Optimize processes, manage variables, and ensure the effective application of Lean improvements.
  • Participate in the creation of component rework packages (workscoping).
  • Investigate incidents, malfunctions, and deviations from standard repair processes, providing detailed reports.
  • Collaborate in the evaluation and selection of new equipment and processes to enhance operational capabilities.
  • Develop tooling, CNC programs, and methodologies for efficient and adaptable repair processes.
  • Focus on troubleshooting, providing First Article Inspection (FAI) support, and implementing processes on the shop floor.
  • Serve as a technical liaison with engine manufacturers and external vendors concerning repair issues.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance in both shop floor and laboratory environments.
  • Prepare technical reports and analyze data related to customer activities within operations.


Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical, Aeronautical, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in an aerospace engine shop setting, specifically addressing technical aspects of maintenance and repairs.
  • Demonstrated capability in supporting investigations and preparing technical reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills, planning abilities, and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to function effectively under stress and experience in a fast-paced MRO environment.
  • Knowledge of special processes such as Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), water jet cutting, thermal spraying, shot peening, welding, and cleaning systems.
  • A customer- and production-focused orientation with a results-driven approach.
  • An excellent team player possessing strong communication skills in both French and English.

Language Requirements in Quebec:

Intermediate level knowledge of English is necessary for aeronautical personnel to meet regulatory requirements, understand technical procedures and instructions, and document entries regarding work performed on the aeronautical product for customers outside Quebec.
