Position Summary

The Master Scheduler supports the development, maintenance, and execution of the master production schedule to align customer demand with production capacity and material availability. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role assists in driving on-time delivery, improving schedule visibility, and supporting planning accuracy within a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.

This role places a strong emphasis on data analysis, reporting, and schedule integrity, working cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and Program Management to help balance priorities, escalate risks, and ensure schedule adherence while developing core planning and scheduling expertise.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Master Scheduling & Planning
    • Support the creation and maintenance of the weekly and monthly production schedule (MPS) under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager.
    • Provide support to track, analyze, and report key supply chain KPIs including:
      • Schedule adherence / attainment (%)
      • On-time delivery (OTD) performance
      • Past-due order aging
      • Capacity utilization
      • Work order cycle times
    • Translate customer forecasts, sales orders, and contract requirements into executable production plans.
    • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues impacting the production schedule, developing proactive solutions.
    • Manage schedule adherence, proactively identifying risks and implementing recovery actions.
    • Perform variance analysis between planned vs. actual performance and highlight root causes.
    • Provide clear, data-driven summaries and visual reports to support management decision making.
    • Support ad hoc reporting requests from Supply Chain, Operations, and Leadership teams.
    • Support Supply Chain Manager and team with additional duties as required.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination
    • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure schedule feasibility and alignment with available capacity and resources.
    • Assist in verifying material availability and identifying shortages impacting production.
    • Communicate schedule changes, risks, and priorities to stakeholders.
    • Support issue resolution by gathering data and coordinating follow-up actions.
    • Must be willing to support cross-functional duties as required.
  • Aerospace & Compliance Requirements
    • Maintain scheduling documentation to support internal processes and external audit requirements.
    • Ensure adherence to company procedures and applicable industry standards (e.g AS9100, ITAR, NADCAP, etc.).
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Analyze production performance against the MPS, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions.
    • Drive process improvements in scheduling tools, data integrity, and planning accuracy.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning processes, optimize operational efficiency, and reduce lead times.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically medium duty work required and comfortable in a CNC manufacturing environment.
  • Requires standing, walking and sitting throughout the day.
  • Able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 25 pounds frequently.


Experience and Education Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing.

  • Complete understanding and application of MRP principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • Strong communication skills and effectiveness building relationships at all levels.
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes (forging, CNC machining, heat treat, special processes).
  • Very strong attention to detail and accuracy in all efforts, quick learner and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software, with an emphasis in Excel.
  • Teamwork, reliable attendance, and willingness to work overtime as needed.


Technical Skills
  • MS Office
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (D365, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Excel capability.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, capacity planning, and demand forecasting.
