Master Scheduler II

Full Time + Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with Company Match, PTO)

Job Type: Onsite

Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00, DOE

Location: Fremont, CA

Main Functions

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing the master production schedule to meet customer delivery commitments, company revenue objectives, and production capacity. This role coordinates production priorities, monitors schedule performance, and works closely with Production, Customer Service, and other departments to ensure efficient workflow and on-time delivery.

This position plans and schedules production by reviewing material availability, routings, capacity, and inventory levels. Responsibilities include releasing and updating job orders in the Made2Manage (M2M) ERP system, expediting critical orders, monitoring work-in-process, and serving as the liaison between Production and Customer Service to communicate schedule changes and resolve production issues.

The role is also responsible for all purchasing activities for the site. This includes preparing and issuing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality, maintaining approved supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and lead times, and identifying cost-reduction opportunities while ensuring compliance with company policies and quality requirements

Typical Duties
  • Identify and manage top 3-5 constrained work centers with executable production schedules
  • Develop, maintain, and manage detailed production schedules for constrained areas
  • Work with Production leadership to address capacity constraints
  • Maintain integrated master schedules
  • Report capacity availability to support customer demand and sales orders
  • Establish and maintain production parameters (standards) with Engineering and Production
  • Resolve work order quantity variances and material remnants
  • Support Customer Service and Sales with production scheduling alignment
  • Ensure capacity for expedites, product development, and demand spikes
  • Monitor production control KPIs (on-time delivery, job releases, on-time release performance)
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts in scheduling processes
  • Review and determine safety stock levels for finish goods, purchased items and economical build quantities
  • Monitor purchasing queue and issue purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
  • Follow up on open purchase orders and supplier performance
  • Coordinate with Quality on non-conforming materials
  • Manage supplier returns with Shipping and Accounts Payable
  • Complete and process new supplier setup and approvals
  • Maintain and update supplier records in M2M ERP system
  • Evaluate supplier performance using system data
  • Update vendor lead times in ERP system

Required Skills

  • Minimum English Language comprehension level: 4/5
  • APICS CPIM certification completed or in process.
  • Fluent in ERP software, MRP, Scheduling and Planning systems.
  • Experience with purchasing practices and supplier management

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including, but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of military and commercial specifications and standards
  • Lean manufacturing /six sigma training and demonstrated experience

  • Experience Leading Sales & Operations Planning (SOP) or SIOP


Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related field or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

  • Five years of master scheduling experience or three years master scheduling experience plus two years directly related experience.


  • Valid driver's license and insurance
  • Acceptable driving record


Physical Requirements

Sitting, walking, standing. Ability to lift 10 lbs.

Working Conditions

Cubical desk area with other people. Temperature controlled environment. Multi-tasking with telephone calls, conversational noise, entering data in computer and other office type disruptions.
