Full Job Description
Role Purpose

The Master Data Manager is responsible for executing and sustaining the enterprise Master Data Management program across North America. This role ensures adherence to established governance standards, policies, controls, and business processes while driving data quality, process performance, and operational excellence across key master data domains.

Partnering with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external service providers, the Master Data Manager leads day-to-day master data operations, monitors performance against established KPIs, identifies improvement opportunities, and ensures the consistent execution of governance practices that support business operations and strategic objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute and sustain enterprise master data processes across Material, Customer, Vendor, Pricing, and other key master data domains.
  • Ensure adherence to established master data governance standards, policies, controls, and business rules.
  • Drive data quality improvements through KPI monitoring, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate governance activities and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment, accountability, and timely resolution of data-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain data dictionaries, business definitions, hierarchies, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.
  • Partner with external service providers to monitor service delivery, data quality performance, and adherence to governance standards, ensuring business objectives and service level expectations are achieved.
  • Support master data and technology initiatives, including ERP, MDM, and process transformation projects through requirements gathering, testing, and implementation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX requirements, audit controls, and internal governance standards.
  • Develop and maintain reporting and performance metrics to measure data quality, operational effectiveness, and governance compliance.
  • Identify operational risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities while driving standardization and process optimization.


Education and/or Experience

Required:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, Business Process Management, or related disciplines.


Preferred:
    • Experience with SAP, SAP MDG, or other Master Data Management platforms.
    • Experience supporting ERP implementations, data transformation, or business process improvement initiatives.
    • Six Sigma, PMP, Data Governance, or related
    • Experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or food manufacturing industry.


Competencies and Proficiency Requirements
  • Experience working across multiple master data domains within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, process controls, data quality management, and business process execution.
  • Experience managing third-party service providers and driving performance through defined service levels and operational metrics.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive results without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
