In this role, you will lead the calculation, modeling, and analysis of mass properties for advanced aerospace systems, including mission payloads, integrated aircraft, and orbital space exploration platforms. Responsible for developing complex aerodynamic components and structures across the entire product lifecycle, you will build and validate mass properties simulations, conduct physical aircraft inventory and weighing operations, and provide crucial technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on multidisciplinary teams.
What We're Looking For Education & Experience- Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (Advanced degrees may substitute for experience).
- 6+ years of relevant experience in mass properties analysis, weight and balance, and aerospace structural engineering.
- Demonstrated experience working in and leading technical efforts within multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
Must-Have Skills- Mass Properties Leadership & Analysis: Proven capability to lead mass properties calculations, build complex weight models/simulations, and manage mass distribution for aerospace hardware.
- Aircraft Weight & Balance: Direct experience conducting physical aircraft weighing operations, inventory management, and generating mass properties documentation.
- Engineering Tools & Fundamentals: Solid proficiency with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE/CAD) tools and core structural/aerodynamic engineering principles.
- Mentorship & Technical Guidance: Skill in guiding, reviewing, and mentoring junior engineers through the design, development, and testing lifecycle.
Nice-to-Have Skills (Preferred)- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering.
- Deep knowledge of parametric design, Model-Based Definition (MBD), and flight mechanics fundamentals.
- Prior experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry, U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), or U.S. Military programs.
