About the Role:

The Marymoor Customer & Business Services Supervisor leads a team of full and parttime staff who are the front-line ambassadors for Marymoor Park's millions of annual visitors. This role ensures that the public receives responsive, equitable, and high-quality service-whether interacting at the front office, navigating the parking fee program, scheduling fields and facilities, or attending large special events that draw thousands of people to the park.

A core responsibility of this role is overseeing the team's use of key systems and workflows, including Active Net scheduling, aging report management, payment processing platforms, mobile parking tools, and onsite parking equipment. As Marymoor continues shifting to more technologically advanced service models, the Supervisor will guide the evolution of these systems while maintaining user friendly, efficient, and accessible processes.

This position offers the opportunity to lead continuous improvement efforts, troubleshoot operational challenges, and support community focused initiatives that advance King County's mission and commitment to equity. Through strong leadership and thoughtful problem solving, the Marymoor Customer & Business Services Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring Marymoor Park remains welcoming, well organized, and responsive to the diverse community it serves.

This position follows a hybrid work model, blending remote and in-person work.

About the Team:

The Recreation, Partnerships, and Property Management section supports revenue generating activities, community partnerships, customer service functions, and property management across King County Parks.

Within this section, the Marymoor Business Unit manages partnerships, events, rentals, the parking program, and customer service specific to Marymoor Park. The team collaborates closely with the Marymoor Maintenance Team and longstanding partners including S.O.D.A., the Velodrome Association, Eastside Audubon, the Community Garden Association, Sammamish Rowing Club, and others to deliver high-quality programs and experiences.

The Business Unit oversees daily operations for concerts, outdoor movies, cultural festivals, sports rentals, and other community and revenue producing events. Staff respond to inquiries, schedule facilities, collect fees, and administer the park's parking permits, payments, and citations.

Job Duties

  • Lead and support staff responsible for customer service delivery across Marymoor Park, including Business Unit office operations, the parking fee enforcement program, the North Green River Garden program, and event parking attendants. Responsibilities include hiring, training, workload planning, performance support, conflict resolution, and other personnel functions for approximately 4 fulltime staff, 8 short term staff, and 25+ seasonal employees.
  • Coordinate the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of Business Unit programs, policies, proposals, procedures, and operational plans.
  • Manage key operational systems including the Marymoor Park Active Net scheduling database, Payment Express transaction processing, and ParkMobile payment systems, among others.
  • Review and audit business financial records, revenues, monitor and follow up on aging reports and collections, and ensure compliance with PCI standards and other financial protocols.
  • Supervise and participate in the investigation, response, and resolution of internal and external customer conflicts, complaints, and inquiries.
  • Serve as a liaison to Marymoor Park concessionaires and community partners, ensuring compliance with contract terms and supporting groups in providing high-quality park services.
  • Serve as a member of the Business Unit Leadership Team, act as backup to the Marymoor Park Administrator, and function as a secondary event venue supervisor. This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support park operations and staff.

Qualifications You Bring:
  • Exceptional communication skills, with proven success interacting effectively and positively with both customers and staff.
  • 3 years of strong supervisory experience, including leading diverse teams and managing personnel processes.
  • Experience managing or supporting financial reconciliation, revenue reporting, and cash handling processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with databases, scheduling software, payment systems, or other operational technology tools.
  • Proficient organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet deadlines.
  • Skills in resolving conflicts and navigating challenging customer interactions with professionalism and empathy.
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations, and to communicate them clearly to staff and the public.

Required Licenses/Certifications:
  • Valid driver's license (this position is required to be able to drive King County vehicles around Marymoor Park at a minimum)

Working Conditions:
  • Work Location: The Recreation, Partnerships, and Property Management section team works in a hybrid model, with days in the office as well as telecommuting. The ratio of remote to onsite work will be dependent on business needs and is subject to change including some evenings and weekends to support park activities. The primary onsite location is Marymoor Park - 6046 West Lake Sammamish Pkwy NE, Redmond, WA 98052. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. King County has a robust collection of to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will join an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the department's hybrid environment. Employees will be provided with a County-issued laptop and must maintain a home workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours.
  • Work Schedule: This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible. Onsite presence required Tuesdays and Thursdays minimally.
