Job Description

As a Project Manager within the Marketing PMO, you’ll focus on the executional portion of programs and campaigns by supporting PMO Program Managers and Senior Project Managers who guide these high-volume initiatives from strategy through delivery. This role will also independently manage the delivery of multiple medium-level projects on time and within the established scope. This includes monitoring and managing the initiation of forecasted work, assisting in media execution support (specifications, trafficking of files, media supplier delivery, etc.), project managing work from inception to final delivery, facilitating and communicating project status, and producing recaps for completed projects as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning: Helping outline forecasted marketing work to aid in planning efforts.

  • Assists Program or Senior Project Managers with Campaign planning if requested.

Project Lifecycle Management: Championing the processes and workflow to safeguard consistency while flexing when required for project success.

  • Assists and takes direction from Program Managers or Senior Project Managers on complex, high-volume programs or campaigns by taking the lead on executional projects for various channel deliverables once the strategy and creative direction has been determined and guiding these from execution kick-off to delivery.

  • Ensuring upfront project requirements/scoping are received and are aligned with the appropriate project priority and workflow.

  • Creating comprehensive project schedules that outline project milestones from execution kick-off to in-market delivery based on scope, timing, deadlines, and resources.

  • Capturing milestone dates and overall timelines regularly, validating and adjusting timelines as needed.

  • Facilitating project approvals for stakeholders.

  • Identifying and proactively resolving any deliverables that might fall behind schedule.

  • Communicating project status, approvals, risk, and delivery updates across teams and stakeholders.

  • Scheduling, facilitating, and outlining action items & next steps for project related meetings (e.g. — project kick-offs, creative reviews, stand-ups, risk mitigation meetings, and retrospectives).

  • Working with designated production suppliers to ensure delivery of project deliverables, if applicable.

  • Ensuring proper project closure and archive procedures are executed.

Project Execution & Ownership: Manages a diverse portfolio of projects, including single-channel initiatives and larger, multi-channel marketing campaigns, demonstrating adaptability across scopes.

  • Takes full ownership of projects, proactively driving them forward with minimal oversight while ensuring all deliverables align with business goals.

  • Demonstrates comfort working in ambiguity and adapting to shifting priorities, maintaining focus and resourcefulness to keep projects on track.

Project Management System Coordination: Orchestrating all assigned book of work activities and documentation within the PMO technology support systems, including Workfront, from project creation through close-out procedures.

  • Certifying the system centrally houses all project requirements, schedules, documentation, and project approvals.

  • Managing data entry into systems as required to ensure proper project execution.

  • Leveraging reporting to analyze, translate, and communicate trends or project insights.

  • Functioning as a skillful user of all system features and functions, proactively suggesting system enhancements and shortcuts to the administration team.

  • Contributes to PMO-wide process standardization by documenting workflows, flagging inconsistencies, and sharing replicable approaches with the team.

Business Knowledge: Ensuring an understanding of the overall JWN business, the Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack customer and their assigned area of business (book of work).

  • Keeps aware of JWN business goals and performance.

  • Has a general knowledge of the target customer segmentation and how it relates to their assigned business area.

  • Possesses a general knowledge of their assigned book of work including forecasted goals and business results.

Cross-Program Agility: Operates as a versatile PMO execution resource, capable of supporting a range of programs and books of work rather than a single siloed assignment.

  • Demonstrates willingness and ability to take on work across multiple programs (e.g. Anniversary, Holiday, Loyalty, Seasonal, Rack) as assigned through PMO intake processes.

  • Builds and maintains cross-program knowledge by proactively learning program nuances beyond their primary assignment area.

  • Contributes to shared playbooks and standardized processes that enable consistent execution across all programs.

AI & Tool Fluency: Demonstrates a growth mindset toward adopting emerging tools and AI capabilities to improve execution speed, quality, and consistency.

  • Actively explores and applies AI-assisted tools to augment project management tasks such as status communication, documentation drafting, and risk flagging.

  • Identifies opportunities to automate or streamline repetitive execution tasks, and partners with the PMO operations team to implement improvements.

  • Comfortable working alongside evolving tooling and contributes feedback that helps the team continuously raise the quality and efficiency of PMO processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

The Basics

  • 2–4 years of project management experience in marketing, advertising, design, or related fields.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communication, or equivalent experience.

  • Strong understanding of marketing deliverables across in-store/VM, digital, social, media, video, broadcast, and print channels.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of project management principles.

  • Understanding of process methodologies: predictive, agile, and hybrid.

  • Strong willingness to learn and roll up sleeves in a fast-paced environment.

  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to clearly articulate status, risks, and solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate your co-workers and inspire a one-team approach.

  • Gives and receives feedback with a positive intention.

  • Intuitive problem solver with the ability to anticipate and action plan.

Preferred

  • 4–6 years of project management experience in marketing, advertising, or design.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Proficiency using Mac OS platform.

  • Prior experience working in a project management software solution.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).


Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different for other locations.
Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$80,000.00 - $132,000.00 Annual
