Summary

The Marketing Operations Specialist owns and optimizes the platforms, workflows, and governance practices that support scalable marketing execution across SouthState. With primary responsibility for the Optimizely Content Marketing Platform (CMP) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) environments, this role configures workflows, maintains asset and metadata quality, supports users, monitors operational performance, grows platform adoption, maintains operational consistency, and implements approved process and platform improvements. This position works across MarCom, Compliance, IT, Lines of Business, and external partners to improve visibility, consistency, efficiency, and adoption throughout the marketing content lifecycle.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • CMP Administration and Marketing Workflow Operations: Administer the Optimizely Content Marketing Platform, including request forms, project templates, workflows, statuses, approval paths, permissions, notifications, campaign and editorial calendars, and reporting views. Maintain platform data quality and support consistent use of established intake, planning, review, and approval processes.
  • DAM Administration and Asset Lifecycle Management: Administer the Optimizely Digital Asset Management environment, including asset intake, metadata, taxonomy, permissions, versioning, approval status, effective expiration dates, usage rights, archival, and distribution. Help ensure users can locate and use current, approved, brand-compliant assets.
  • Process Design and Continuous Improvement: Analyze marketing workflows, identify bottlenecks and recurring issues, document requirements, and recommend process improvements. Implement approved changes and evaluate whether they improve cycle time, quality, visibility, or user experience.
  • Governance, Taxonomy, and Data Quality: Apply and maintain standards for taxonomy, metadata, naming conventions, folder structures, project data, asset status, documentation, and platform usage. Conduct routine quality reviews and coordinate correction of incomplete, duplicate, expired, superseded, or improperly classified records and assets.
  • Adoption, Training, and User Support: Develop user documentation, provide onboarding and training, respond to platform questions, triage issues, and support adoption of CMP and DAM processes by internal teams, agencies, vendors, and other authorized users.
  • Reporting, Platform Roadmap, and Optimization: Monitor adoption and operational performance using measures such as request volume, cycle time, overdue work, approval duration, metadata completeness, asset reuse, search effectiveness, and user activity. Present findings and recommendations and support implementation of the approved CMP and DAM roadmap. Evolve the DAM platform into a Line of Business facing sales enablement tool for the bank. Monitor Optimizely Opal credit consumption and report run rate to the Senior Marketing Operations Manager.

Qualifications

Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Information Systems, Information Science, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.


Minimum Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in marketing operations, content operations, digital asset management, project management, or a similar role within a marketing technology environment.
  • Hands-on experience administering or configuring at least one Content Marketing Platform, Digital Asset Management, work management, or content operations platform. Experience with Optimizely CMP or DAM is strongly preferred. Comparable platforms may include Adobe Workfront, Adobe Experience Manager Assets, Bynder, Aprimo, Acquia DAM, Sitecore Content Hub, Monday.com, or Asana.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring marketing workflows, request forms, project templates, permissions, approval paths, notifications, calendars, and operational reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining taxonomy, metadata, naming conventions, folder structures, asset lifecycle controls, versioning, usage rights, expiration, and archival practices.
  • Ability to analyze operational data, identify bottlenecks and trends, and communicate practical recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working within structured creative, compliance, or approval processes, with experience in a regulated or highly brand-governed environment preferred.


Licenses & Certifications
  • Marketing platform or software certification(s) are desirable, however not required.

  • Working knowledge of content and asset lifecycles, brand governance, structured approvals, and the needs of regulated marketing environments.

Work Environment
  • Office: If the position reports to a physical Company location, the setting will be a typical office environment.

Hybrid positions will report to a physical Company location, as directed by the manager, and that setting will be a typical office environment.


In accordance with Colorado and Virginia law: Pay for this position is anticipated to be between $68,101.00 - $108,784.00 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
