About the role:

The Social Media Manager will serve as a strategic partner within Gartner's Social Media team, part of the Content & Social team within the broader Prospect Experience organization. This role helps shape how Gartner research, campaigns, webinars, conferences, and thought leadership are discovered across social platforms and employee networks.

We're looking for a strategic and execution-focused social media professional with expertise in social strategy, employee advocacy, audience engagement, and digital amplification. The ideal candidate will bring strong editorial judgment, analytical thinking, and a passion for innovation, helping Gartner evolve alongside changing buyer behaviors, platform algorithms, and AI-driven discovery experiences.

What you will do:

  • Partner with the Associate Director and Social Media team to develop and execute Gartner's social media strategy across key platforms.
  • Manage and optimize Gartner's social channels, using audience insights and performance data to drive engagement, reach, and business impact.
  • Translate Gartner research, campaigns, conferences, webinars, and thought leadership into compelling, platform-native social content and experiences.
  • Lead and evolve Gartner's employee advocacy program, driving adoption, engagement, content distribution, and seller enablement.
  • Develop content strategies, audience segmentation approaches, newsletters, and amplification initiatives to maximize program effectiveness.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Gartner to identify new opportunities to expand social reach, advocacy participation, and content visibility.
  • Monitor emerging social trends, platform changes, audience behaviors, and best practices to continuously improve Gartner's social presence.
  • Execute testing and experimentation across content formats, distribution strategies, community engagement, and advocacy programs.
  • Leverage analytics and performance insights to optimize content, improve discoverability, and increase audience engagement.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor during high-visibility, reputation-sensitive, and rapid-response situations requiring sound judgment and platform expertise.
  • Support social governance, operational standards, platform management, and vendor relationships to ensure consistency and effectiveness across Gartner's global social presence.
  • Manage projects and initiatives from planning through execution while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across marketing and the business.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience with demonstrated progression in responsibility, preferably within B2B marketing, social media, or digital marketing environments.
  • Proven success managing large-scale social media, employee advocacy, influencer, ambassador, or thought leadership programs.
  • Strong understanding of LinkedIn and modern social media platform ecosystems.
  • Experience using social management, analytics, and performance measurement tools to develop and optimize audience engagement strategies.
  • Exceptional written communication, storytelling, and editorial judgment skills.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and understanding of audience behavior and platform dynamics.
  • Ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations and confidently influence stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to balance creativity, execution, governance, and performance optimization in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments, assessing risks, solving problems, and making sound decisions.
  • Naturally curious, innovative, and passionate about continuous improvement, experimentation, and emerging technologies, including AI-driven discovery.

What you will get:
  • Competitive salary, generous paid time off policy, charity match program, Medical, Dental & Vision Plans, Parental Leave, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), 401K matching, and more!
