RESPONSIBILITIES

PITCHING, TARGETING & NEW BUSINESS GENERATION

  • Co-lead the development and delivery of pitches, proposals, and RFP responses, ensuring strategic alignment, compelling messaging, and high-quality execution.
  • Partner with lawyers and M&BD colleagues to shape targeting strategies, develop positioning, and identify new business opportunities.
  • Create and maintain core pitch materials, including credentials, matter descriptions, and experience databases.
  • Contribute proactively to global and cross-practice pitch opportunities.


MARKETING CAMPAIGNS, THOUGHT LEADERSHIP & PROFILE RAISING

  • Lead and execute integrated marketing campaigns to raise profile with priority clients and target markets.
  • Develop and distribute thought leadership content, including web, social media, and client communications.
  • Support strategic social media initiatives aligned with practice priorities, including advising and educating attorneys on effective, compliant, brand-consistent use of social media platforms to enhance visibility, thought leadership and client engagement.
  • Draft compelling marketing copy and ensure consistent, high-quality messaging aligned with firm strategy.
  • Support and manage directory and award submissions, advising stakeholders on positioning and messaging.
  • Promote practice capabilities internally and externally through coordinated communication efforts.


EVENTS & SPONSORSHIPS

  • Manage end-to-end execution of seminars, sponsorships, and client events, ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and maximized return on investment.
  • Evaluate event and sponsorship opportunities and advise on participation to maximize impact.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver high-quality event experiences and follow-up engagement.


RESEARCH & MARKET INTELLIGENCE

  • Conduct market, client, and competitor research to inform BD strategy and support targeting decisions.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and risks impacting the practice and translate insights into actionable recommendations.


DATA, SYSTEMS & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT

  • Maintain and enhance CRM and marketing data quality, ensuring accurate and actionable insight for BD activities.
  • Develop and manage targeted mailing lists and campaign tracking tools.
  • Support continuous improvement of M&BD processes and workflows.


WIDER M&BD CONTRIBUTION

  • Contribute to broader Global Regulatory & IP and cross-practice M&BD initiatives.
  • Collaborate across regions and functions, demonstrating strong stakeholder management and communication.
  • All members of the firm are expected to participate in our global Responsible Business program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5)+ years of relevant marketing and/or business development experience required, preferably in a legal or professional services environment.
  • Experience supporting global or cross-border teams preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required (marketing, communications, or related field preferred).


HOURS

Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., including lunch hour, with flexibility to work additional hours as needed. This position follows a hybrid schedule, with four days in the office and one day working remotely from home.

In Washington, D.C., the expected base salary range for this role is $83,200 - $117,000 per year.

This range reflects a good-faith estimate of pay at the time of posting; the actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate's qualifications. This position is eligible for additional forms of compensation, which may include annual discretionary bonuses. Employees in this role are also eligible for benefits offered by the firm, subject to applicable plan terms and conditions, which currently include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) retirement plan; and paid time off.
