Full Job Description
Lead the market as its senior executive, with full accountability for news direction, strategy, performance, and results across all platforms. Translate strategy into results through disciplined prioritization, problem-solving, and measurable execution. Shape organizational structure to support strategic priorities and evolving business needs.

Champion uncompromising news integrity and public trust by rigorously upholding editorial independence and transparent standards that safeguard accuracy, fairness, and credibility. Establish and enforce disciplined practices for fact checking, source verification, and ethical decision-making, ensuring all content meets the highest standards of integrity, remains balanced and responsible, and consistently strengthens community confidence in the market's news brands

Lead a high-performing executive team spanning news, programming, sales, marketing, digital, web development, engineering/technical, and HR. Establish clear accountability and cross-functional alignment to drive execution and organizational effectiveness. Develop leadership capability, performance excellence, and succession strength across the organization.

Own the market's strategic plan, setting and executing priorities that drive revenue growth, audience engagement, and long-term value creation.

Drive sustained revenue and profitability, through effective development, promotion, and sale of the market's multi-platform products and services. Lead broadcast and digital growth strategies, expanding content, distribution, and advertiser solutions. Review and approve key business agreements, exercising sound commercial and risk judgment.

Maintain full P&L and financial management responsibility, including budget development, expense control, resource allocation, and financial outcomes. Allocate resources strategically to balance near-term performance with long-term growth objectives

Oversee integrated market operations, aligning programming, marketing, technical, and digital functions to execute strategy, optimize performance, and support audience growth, brand strength, and revenue outcomes.

Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management, including FCC requirements, license obligations, and corporate governance standards. Maintain strong governance, controls, and operational discipline across the market.

Serve as the senior market representative, strengthening community relationships, brand leadership, and external partnerships. Advance partnerships and engagement initiatives that reinforce brand leadership and sustainable growth.

Complete other duties as assigned

  • 5-8 years of senior leadership experience in a broadcasting, media, or news organization; with a proven track record of upholding journalistic integrity, driving business performance, and delivering sustained revenue growth; bachelor's degree in related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Demonstrated innovative leadership, communication and staff development skills with a history of successful leadership, innovation and goal achievement in a multimedia company.
  • Proven broad-based knowledge of radio station operations, including FCC regulations and license compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to journalistic integrity, including rigorous fact checking, source verification, and high standards for accuracy and fairness in editorial decision-making.
  • Proven ability to uphold editorial independence and transparent news standards that protect credibility, reinforce public trust, and ensure content remains balanced, responsible, and community focused.
  • Proven strength in thinking independently, analyzing and solving problems; must excel at establishing and balancing priorities.
