Full Job Description
General Job Summary:

The Market President is responsible for the strategic direction, growth, and profitability of the assigned market. This role leads business development efforts, fosters client relationships, and represents the Bank in the community to ensure market visibility. The Market President collaborates with internal partners to deliver tailored financial solutions while maintaining regulatory compliance and upholding the Bank's mission and values.

Organizational Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of the Bank. Complies willingly with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Supports all functions that maintain compliance with regulatory agencies.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and executes strategic plans to grow market share and enhance profitability
  • Oversees market operations, including commercial lending, retail banking, and wealth management in coordination with respective departments
  • Leads, mentors, and develops a team of market personnel to ensure performance goals are met
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key business clients and community leaders
  • Collaborates with product and service partners to deliver integrated solutions
  • Monitors local market conditions and economic trends to identify new business opportunities
  • Ensures compliance with banking laws, regulations, and internal policies
  • Represents the Bank at public, civic, and community functions to enhance visibility and reputation


Hiring Expectations:

Responsible for building a high-performing team from day one by recruiting experienced Relationship Managers across multiple disciplines (C&I, CRE, BB, PB, WMT, TM, Mortgage, etc). In addition, the Market President will work with managers to hire necessary support staff, including Loan Coordinators and Client Service professionals, to ensure operational excellence and client satisfaction.

Branch Expectations:

Market President will work with appropriate departments within SYB to identify opportunities to open branch offices to support retail operations and growing staff.

Other Functions:
  • Participates in special projects, committees, and task forces as assigned
  • Supports organizational initiatives outside of the assigned market when necessary


Working Conditions:
• Standard office environment with regular travel within the market area
• Occasional evening and weekend events required for community engagement

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field

Experience: Minimum 10 years of banking experience with at least 5 years in a leadership or executive role
