About this role:

The Market Development Representative 1 is responsible for generating net new pipeline for Red Hat by discovering, qualifying ad passing net new opportunities to Sales in accordance with detailed instructions. The role involves adhering to Red Hat's standardized follow up process to proactively contact leads (marketing sourced & outbound), qualify opportunities in accordance with MEDDPICC and set up handoff calls with the relevant AE/SA. Exercising limited judgment, this position supports marketing and sales initiatives by collaborating closely with both teams to ensure routine tasks and lead follow up activities are completed efficiently.

What you will do:


Follow up on inbound marketing-generated leads to uncover customer challenges, qualify opportunities and set up Qualified Meetings with Account teams.

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales on routine campaigns to leverage relevant content to follow up on marketing inbound leads.

  • Implement prescribed prospecting techniques to generate interest in prospective customers.

  • Develop a basic understanding of Red Hat's technology and product portfolio.

  • Utilize all systems and tools (Salesforce, Outreach, 6Sense, etc.) to maintain accurate records of activities related to outreach on leads and contacts.

  • Follow established processes and adhere to published SLAs for all tasks.


What you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, management, information systems, marketing, communications, or related field of study work experience or academic projects in sales, marketing, or information systems

  • Public speaking and presentation skills

  • Knowledge of sales techniques and systems like (SFDC) or Outreach

  • Willingness to travel as needed

  • Excellent communication, problem solving, time management, and interpersonal skills

  • Positive attitude

  • Demonstrated success in previous roles

The salary range for this position is $73,400.00 - $110,040.00 (inclusive of base pay + target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
