Marine Structural Engineer - Ports & Harbours

Vancouver, BC

The Opportunity:

Klohn Crippen Berger (KCB) is seeking a Marine Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Vancouver, British Columbia. Reporting to the Manager, Ports and Harbours, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of a diverse range of marine infrastructure projects, including ports, harbours, terminals, waterfront structures, and related facilities. In this role, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative engineering solutions from concept through detailed design, construction, and project completion.

This role will give you the opportunity to:
  • Contribute to structural and civil engineering design for ports, harbours, and major infrastructure projects (jetties, breakwaters, pontoons, wharves, seawalls, etc.)
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and drafters
  • Mentor junior engineers and support the development of team technical expertise
  • Prepare technical reports, proposals, and project documentation
  • Participate in site visits to inform design decisions and ensure quality throughout project execution
  • Travel within British Columbia, Canada, and occasionally International.


We value your:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration in Canada or eligibility within the year.
  • 5-10 years of related experience in port, marine, or other heavy civil infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in:
    • Reinforced concrete and structural steel design
    • Foundations (including piled foundations), marine structures, and earthworks
    • Seismic and marine-specific design
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong technical report writing capability
  • Working knowledge of construction scheduling for large infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 to $145,000 per year. Actual salary offered is based on an individual assessment of applicable experience, education, and skill level. Along with continued career development, KCB offers:
