Manufacturing Technologist III - Global Machining & Programming is a senior technical role responsible for the development, deployment, and optimization of advanced manufacturing processes across global operations.
This role specializes in
post creation, CNC programming, and production readiness, while driving
continuous improvement initiatives and
standardization of machining practices across multiple sites. The position requires significant global collaboration and
travel exceeding 50% to support operations, industrialization efforts, and technology deployment.
Key ResponsibilitiesPost Creation & Production Readiness- Develop, standardize, and maintain production documentation, including:
- CNC programs (multi-axis, mill/turn)
- Setup sheets and tooling lists
- Routings and manufacturing work instructions
- Ensure all programs and processes are production-ready, validated, and optimized for global deployment
- Lead and support post processor development, validation, and troubleshooting for various machine/control combinations
- Drive program verification and simulation (e.g., Vericut or equivalent) to eliminate risk and ensure first-time-right execution
- Interface with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure DFM alignment and manufacturability
Advanced CNC Programming & Technical Leadership- Perform and lead complex CNC programming activities, including:
- Multi-axis toolpath strategies
- Macro programming, parametric logic, and automation
- Optimization of cycle times and cutting performance
- Provide technical leadership to programmers and manufacturing engineers globally
- Support selection and implementation of cutting tools, fixturing, and machining methods
- Establish best practices for NX CAM (or equivalent CAM systems) and digital manufacturing workflows
Continuous Improvement & Standardization- Lead global continuous improvement initiatives focused on:
- Cycle time reduction
- Cost optimization
- Quality improvement and defect reduction
- Promote and implement lean manufacturing principles across machining operations
- Drive standardization of processes, tooling, and programming methodologies across sites
- Analyze production data and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and deploy solutions at scale
Global Operations Support- Provide hands-on support for:
- New product industrialization
- Process troubleshooting and recovery
- Capacity and capability enhancements
- Collaborate with:
- R&D and Engineering for product introduction
- Operations for production performance
- Digital/OT teams for manufacturing system integration
- Act as a key interface between global manufacturing sites, suppliers, and technology vendors
Qualification/Experience- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in machining, in Oil and Gas manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Multi Axis Machine tools, CNC Programming, NX CAM System
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Strong understanding of Manufacturing safety practices and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.
