This role is a valuable part of our Manufacturing and Incoming Quality Control (IQC) team, which is committed to ensuring high quality, safety, and delivery standards for our products. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with key stakeholders in Manufacturing, Technical Supplier Management, Supplier Quality, Procurement, Warehouse, Engineering, and Metrology. You will lead production and IQC teams, drive continuous improvement, and ensure strict compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Quality System Regulations.
The Opportunity
As the Supervisor of Manufacturing & Incoming Quality Control, your primary function is to lead 1st-shift manufacturing and IQC operations to ensure the timely inspection, release, and compliance of incoming materials and products while driving operational excellence.
Team Leadership & Operations: Lead, plan, and schedule 1st-shift manufacturing and Incoming Quality Control (IQC) activities, effectively allocating personnel and equipment to meet departmental delivery, safety, and productivity goals.
Quality & Material Release: Oversee the timely inspection and release of incoming materials, managing Material Review Board (MRB) Hold and IQC Hold areas to prevent nonconforming materials from impacting production schedules.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Technical Supplier Management, Supplier Quality, Procurement, Warehouse, Engineering, and Metrology to resolve quality, component, and technical issues.
Regulatory Compliance & Audits: Ensure full compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality System Regulations (QSR), maintain team training compliance, and represent Manufacturing and IQC during internal and external audits.
Continuous Improvement & Lean Execution: Drive Lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g., standard work, 5S, Kaizen, root-cause analysis) to reduce process variation, optimize inspection cycle times, and eliminate waste.
Metrics & Performance Monitoring: Maintain and analyze key operational metrics—such as Right First Time performance, material release times, CAPA/nonconformance resolutions, and scrap rates—to drive actionable improvements.
People Development: Recruit, train, coach, and mentor direct reports, applying servant-leadership principles to build a high-performing, adaptable team.
Who You Are
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics/Supply Chain, Science, Engineering/Engineering Technology, or a Life Science discipline OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a regulated industry, along with 3 years of direct people leadership experience (Quality Control lab experience preferred).
Continuous Improvement & Blueprint Literacy: Demonstrated proficiency with Lean/Continuous Improvement methodologies, as well as the ability to read engineering blueprints/part drawings and interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
Technical & Digital Tools: Conceptual knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, digital tools, and process workflows, with preferred experience utilizing Google Suite.
Organizational & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and root-cause analysis skills, with high attention to detail and good documentation practices in a fast-paced environment.
Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with proven ability to interact professionally with all levels of leadership, build cross-functional relationships, and present decision-points effectively.
Adaptability & Leadership Mindset: Proactive self-starter with a team-builder attitude who can successfully adapt to shifting priorities and lead direct reports through coaching, open communication, and servant leadership principles.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Tucson, AZ is $75,040 to $139,360 Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance, as well as participation in a long-term incentive program.
