Purpose

The Quality Manager provides support and services the site operations. In addition, the Quality Manager and the Quality Systems department services all internal company departments; sales, tech service, logistics, product development and purchasing. External customer requirements and specifications are also managed by Quality Systems.

The Quality Manager contributes to the corporate Strategic Business Plan by developing and maintaining systems that facilitate the production processes achieved by each of the relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPI's). The Quality Manager communicates a clear, cohesive message to site manufacturing personnel focusing on customer satisfaction and process improvement. The incumbent develops, implements, maintains and audits site specific operations requirements of the corporate Quality Management System to ensure all processes and products are in compliance with code, accreditation, certification and customer requirements as well as developing and supporting automation and digital transformation initiatives.

The Quality Manager leads quality improvement initiatives across all sites, supports sales and technical service in product application, product development, and implements continuous systemic improvement. claim investigations and corrective actions.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop site work teams, facilitate team meetings, activities, resources, conflicts and overall team development. Act as a coach to remove obstacles to increase team performance and resolve team disputes when necessary.
  • Continuously develop, oversee and maintain company infrastructure, practices and systems that support existing product and service quality requirements.
  • Lead efforts to resolve quality problems across the organization.
  • Manage and facilitate continuous improvement projects through worksite teams.
  • Identify cost drivers and institute programs and procedures to reduce costs where applicable.
  • Ensure standard practices and procedures for all processes are used in a controlled fashion to produce consistent and stable quality products and services.
  • Develop and provide training on process, product / customer requirements and quality systems tools.

Education & Experience Qualifications

Minimum:

Bachelor of Science or Arts degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Operations Management or related field

5 years minimum quality systems experience in manufacturing environment

5 years minimum supervisor or manager experience

Preferred:

Master of Science in Metallurgy/Chemistry/Engineering or MBA

10 years' Supervisor or manager experience

10 years' experience in manufacturing setting

Salary Range: The expected pay scale for this role is $143,700.00 - $182,200.00 annually, depending on experience, skill set, and qualifications. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a targeted annual bonus of 20%, as well as health and welfare benefits and a 401(k) match, in accordance with BlueScope policies.
