Manufacturing Process Engineer - ITW Shakeproof Machesney Park, IL

POSTION SUMMARY:
The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting tool design, continuous improvement, and capacity analysis. The Process Engineer is also a critical member of our Advanced Product Quality Planning
(APQP) process for parts within the Division and directly impacts the P&L through successful new product launch and efficiency improvements. To achieve their goals, the engineer works frequently with our manufacturing, quality, sales, and APQP teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Collaborates with our manufacturing departments to develop manufacturing prints, bill of materials, routings and establishes controls for ensuring quality product. This includes the creation of Process FMEAs and Control Plans.
• Creates 2D and/or D3 models of the tooling used in the manufacturing of our product.
• Leads Build Events during the APQP process of new product (if applicable).
• Supports capacity analysis for new and existing product.
• Guides APQP Engineers on part feasibility for potential new business.
Using Lean techniques, supports continuous improvement projects at our plants with the goal to reduce waste and/or improve manufacturing performance.
• Works alongside Production to trouble-shoot manufacturing issues.
• Supports Quality in root cause analysis of customer and internal issues.
• Manages updates to engineering prints, standards or processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Minimum 1-2 years experience in manufacturing industry, product and or tooling, development for metal manufacturing (fastener) experience desired.

Automotive industry is highly beneficial.

Working knowledge of APQP or equivalent gated product development processes.
Working knowledge of Lean techniques.

Elevated proficiency with Microsoft Office software package; specifically, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Strong experience with 2D and 3D CAD software; preferably AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

Compensation Information: The specific salary within the posted pay range will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications and prior experience with approximately $80,000 to $110,000 annually.
