Job Title: MANUFACTURING & PROCESS DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER- MOLDING Posting Start Date: 7/9/26 Job Description: Job Overview Implement improvements to the Production System, reduce tooling costs, coordinate engineering changes, and coordinate systems for plastic injection molds. § Participate in the design and development of tools and mold processes to support the development of new products. § Support product development, including manufacturing optimization designs, tooling sampling, product samples, and prototypes. Determine the most suitable tooling manufacturing concepts related to the anticipated production quantities, quality requirements, and manufacturing location. § Responsible for collaborating with global experts (CoE molding) to continuously update and improve operating standards regarding plastic injection molding. § Collaborate in incorporating the latest technologies and trends in process design to maximize performance and efficiency. § Responsible for providing budgets for new tools and mold processes. § Ensure, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, that molds and processes are designed to produce high-quality products efficiently and effectively at the lowest possible cost. § Responsible for coordinating and tracking engineering changes to injection molds. § Coordinate changes and red lines on drawings and inform the designer to execute these changes. § Provide training to the mold and process workshop area on failure analysis, procedures, and systems. § Review new projects coming to the plant with the launch team, including documentation and process tracking during the plant's launch phase. § Work with the engineering team on FMEA, projects, and launches to optimize and improve the molding process. § Provide information and documentation for the activation of plastic injection molds in systems such as SAP, Hydra, etc., for their production and maintenance. § Participate in the development and maintenance of PFMEAS with the multidisciplinary team. § Participate in the development of Control Plans. § Participate in the plant's Continuous Improvement Programs. § Analyze customer specifications. § Support in analyzing tool and equipment capacities for new part numbers and changes in quoted volumes. § Support the designer in controlling 2D and 3D drawings. § Conduct product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency enhancement. § Provide support for administration, set up, and layouts in the mold workshop. § Responsible for the design and maintenance of plastic injection molds. § Responsible for participating in the development of new products and engineering changes for molds, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and TE. § Implement actions to reduce environmental impact and activities to comply with the ISO14001 standard. § Authority to stop a process that has the potential to harm the environment or is out of legal environmental compliance. § Support in analyzing tool and equipment capacities for new part numbers and changes in quoted volumes. § Provide coaching on root cause analysis and highly effective solutions for complex problems. Job Requirements Requiriments Education § Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics Engineering / Or related field Profesional experiences 5-10 years in a similar position, minimum Personnel management skills Knowledge and Skills Proficient in design software (CAD) such as Creo (Pro-E), SolidWorks, SpaceClaim, AutoCAD, CATIA, preferably. Proficient in simulation software (CAE) for plastic filling, such as Moldflow, Autodesk Moldflow, (ANSYS). RJG MM1 certified or equivalent experience. Good knowledge of tool manufacturing, tool steel application/selection, heat treatment, and plating/coating. Strong understanding of polymer technology, particularly engineering-grade resins. Knowledge of Six Sigma and LEAN (TEOA) principles. Knowledge of geometric tolerances. Good project management skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Understanding of practices, terminology, and tolerances associated with manufacturing, machining, grinding, wire EDM, etc. Management and coaching in root cause problem-solving (8Ds). § Availability to travel (50% of the time). Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. Knowledge of SAP. Ability to exercise effective leadership. Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency (85%). Applicable knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 14001 standards. Knowledge of safety regulations and the environmental management system applicable to the company.
