What you’ll do
- Provide day-to-day production leadership for the Generator Winding shop team to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Coordinate workflow, staffing, and resources to meet customer requirements, production schedules, and key objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Lead first-line shop activities across multiple shifts, partnering with Technical Leads, Quality Technicians, and other support functions to ensure smooth execution of work.
- Review production orders, execute schedules, and remove barriers that could impact output, quality, or timeliness.
- Identify and solve problems, eliminate waste, and drive visual management and Daily Management System discipline across the department.
- Analyze equipment, skill, and process issues, take corrective action, and help minimize downtime and disruption to schedules.
- Support process improvement efforts and assist the Cell Leader in making decisions that improve repairs execution and resource use.
- Perform administrative responsibilities such as time sheet review and approval, labor vouchering, requisitions, and workforce scheduling.
- Coach, motivate, and develop team members to strengthen performance, teamwork, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Use strong communication and leadership skills to support a positive, accountable, and high-performing team environment.
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor or Associate’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing role
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, repair, or services environment.
- Prior leadership experience in a similar setting.

- Power Generation or Heavy Industrial leadership experience
- 3+ years of prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Lean Manufacturing experience or training
- Proven team-building and people leadership skills
- Strong ability to coach, counsel, and motivate a workforce
- Demonstrated success in bringing assignments to completion
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust across teams

- Willing and able to work extended shifts, weekends, and holidays when needed

- This position is 100% onsite at the GE Richmond Service Center

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $81,700.00 and $136,700.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
