Overview

MANUFACTURING MANAGER (PLTX)

 

Bowhead seeks a Manufacturing Manager to lead Bowhead Manufacturing & Product's Quality Management System at our Plano, TX location. As the Manufacturing Manager you will have the opportunity to lead and manage the manufacturing and warehouse staff. You will work closely with other management personnel to develop and initiate processes that enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include:

  • Managing all operations related to manufacturing
  • Develop and track metrics to continuously monitor and improve the production process
  • Coordinate production with material planning, shipping logistics, and program management
  • Responsible for all manufacturing activities including master scheduling, production planning, receiving, assembly, test, inventory, and shipping
  • Ensure timely internal response to operational issues impacting customer expectations and project cycle time performance
  • Emphasize importance of and monitor compliance with appropriate safety policies and procedures
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts utilizing Lean initiatives to reduce costs and support the attainment of established goals
  • Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred in addition to at least three to five (3-5) or more years in prior management experience in manufacturing
  • Minimum of five to eight (5-8) years of direct related experience in manufacturing and quality management is desired
  • Experience in quality inspection supervision and product source inspection preferred
  • Must be an organized and strategic leader with a creative approach toward building solutions and implementing improvements and corrective actions
  • Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 Standards, 6 Sigma tools, Statistics
  • APICS certification (CPIM) certification a plus
  • Experience with an ERP system highly preferred/desired 
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds or more
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: There are currently no Security Clearance requirements for this position; however, candidates must be able to successfully pass a background check.  Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required.  Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.
