Job Summary
This position is responsible for providing safety and technical leadership to achieve breakthrough production results in the assigned area. They are responsible for building technical capability in the maintenance team. They work to eliminate losses and focus on root cause elimination. They are responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses, and accountable to improve the reliability of the system through ownership in defect handling, breakdown elimination and planning and scheduling processes. The position requires considerable interaction with production personnel, leadership team, engineering, external support, and vendors. They will use continuous improvement tools and leadership skills to lead change, foster a team environment, drive employee engagement, deliver results, and take ownership and accountability of the Maintenance and Reliability programs within the department.

Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Lead the assigned maintenance team in performing their duties, regularly assigning tasks, providing instructions, and checking completed work, while offering feedback as needed.
  • Lead/Support the implementation of a Planned Maintenance Management Program
  • Maintain the CMMS program to ensure accurate and adequate scheduled maintenance, calibrations, and parts inventory.
  • Expertly utilize CMMS to create and update PMs, manage spare parts, plan and schedule work orders, and track labor, repair parts, and equipment downtime.
  • Assess equipment and consumable needs to support production requirements, and evaluate and recommend the purchase, fabrication, or modification of equipment.
  • Identify recurring maintenance problems, recommend, and execute solutions
  • Manage daily scheduling and effective resource allocation/prioritization
  • Attend DMS/Tiered meetings as required.
  • Provide guidance, prioritization, and escalation support for trouble calls.
  • Function as a technical resource in areas of maintenance and reliability and technical troubleshooting
  • Provide technical direction during equipment installation and commissioning
  • Coordinating custom equipment assembly and new equipment installation/commissioning activities
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Engineer and Test Engineers on continuous improvement and new equipment projects.
  • Provide input to department manager on team members performance.
  • Promote and grow safety culture, 6S, mission, and values
  • Collaborates with Quality Assurance to resolve quality issues
  • Performs initial injury/near miss incidents investigations/reports for assigned areas.


Secondary Responsibilities
  • Train and mentor team members.
  • Assist Maintenance Manager in CMMS asset management
  • Support the Maintenance Manager in developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance strategies and plans to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Assign team members to participate in 6S and Kaizen events when scheduled.
  • Collaborate with other departments for equipment, fixture and process improvements.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and support for outside service and maintenance actions.


Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise maintenance staff, including monitoring daily production levels and employee efficiency, hiring, training, and evaluating performance
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide training as needed.
  • Reviews and approves daily clocking data for accuracy, job costing and accountability.
  • Hold personnel accountable for following company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring processes.


Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications
  • US Citizenship
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university or vocational school in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering related field OR a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of technical experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a lead role.


Skills and Abilities
  • Experience with Asset Essentials or a similar Computerized Maintenance Management System with experience working to utilize data analysis to drive reliability in facilities maintenance programs
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to interpret needs
  • Knowledgeable in Electrostatic Discharge Protection (ESD) practices, including set up and verification of Electrostatic Protection Areas.
  • Should be familiar with reading and manipulating multiple data formats.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, ANSI S20.20 and WHMA A-620.
  • Ability to read, understand and develop electrical and mechanical schematics for diagnosis and repair.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office Suite, CMMS, PLC software, Agile, and Aegis.
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Less than 10% travel required.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, and communicate, use hands/finger, feel, and reach with arms. This position requires the ability to lift, bend or stoop as necessary up to 50lbs.
