Position Description

The Engineering Supervisor oversees day-to-day engineering activities, ensuring projects and technical work are executed efficiently and in alignment with organizational standards. This role provides direct supervision, technical guidance, and performance management for a team of engineers or technical staff. The Engineering Supervisor collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate resources, resolve technical challenges, and maintain project momentum. This position balances hands-on technical involvement with leadership responsibilities to drive quality and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of engineering staff, including task assignments and workload management.
  • Provide technical guidance and support across design, analysis, development, and implementation efforts.
  • Review engineering deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance with standards.
  • Track project progress, identify risks, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of engineering personnel.
  • Enforce engineering processes, documentation practices, and safety requirements.
  • Facilitate design reviews, technical meetings, and problem-resolution sessions.
  • Monitor team productivity and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering workflows and execution.


Required Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline required.
  • Leadership training, Professional Engineer (PE) licensure, or advanced technical certifications preferred.
  • 5-7 years of progressive engineering experience, including prior experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide technical work and coordinate engineering resources across projects.
  • Strong technical background relevant to the team's engineering discipline(s).
  • Experience reviewing technical documentation and ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination abilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve technical issues.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, technology, industrial, or regulated environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
