Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor is a leadership role providing direction to Shakeproof's plant-level manufacturing engineers. The supervisor ensures deployment of adequate resources at each facility and drives for standardization of our manufacturing processes. Additionally, this individual owns divisional manufacturing capacity and works with our operations and finance departments to champion new capital equipment as required.

This role will be located at either our Elgin or Elk Grove facilities but will require frequently travel to other Shakeproof locations to ensure read-across of best practices across the division.

Job Responsibilities: • Provide functional leadership to the division's manufacturing engineers. • Champion divisional continuous improvement projects. • Establish and utilize capacity analysis tools to advise the operations team when new capital equipment needed. • Manage the purchase and deployment of capital equipment. • Provide assistance to Quality in addressing and driving root cause analysis of customer concerns. • Drive standardization of tooling, vendors, and processes where applicable. • Support drawing approval of part and tool modifications. • Lead divisional activities to reduce tooling spend and footprint. • Support initiatives to outsource low volume product. • Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in the manufacturing industry; product and/or tooling development for metal manufacturing (fastener) experience preferred. • Two or more years in a Supervisory role in a manufacturing environment required (preferably in an industry related environment). • Experience in automotive industry is highly beneficial. • Working knowledge of APQP or equivalent gated product development processes. • Working knowledge of lean techniques. • Elevated proficiency with Microsoft Office software package; specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Additionally, AutoCAD experience is preferred. • Strong experience with 2D and 3D CAD software; preferably AutoCAD and SolidWorks. • Attention to detail, verbal, and written communication skills • Aptitude to multi-task while maintaining highest levels of accuracy. • An inner drive to understand, communicate and exceed established goals. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with ability and willingness to communicate and work with other departments and facilities. • Proven ability to work on a team while generating respect and trust from staff as well as external customers
