The Role: Manufacturing Engineer
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to assist with the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for our advanced propulsion systems. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient, high-quality production aligned with aerospace standards.
What You'll Get To Do- Design Optimization: Assess designs for DFMA: Check CAD models and drawings for tolerancing (GD&T) and manufacturability, ensuring adherence to industry regulations and standards. Design tooling as necessary.
- BOM Management: Validate MBOM structure to ensure correct assemblies, parts, and quantities.
- Change Management: Review, approve, release and distribute technical data for manufacturing. Maintain comprehensive documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, engineering, test and analysis teams to integrate design specifications seamlessly into manufacturing workflows.
- Supplier Engagement: Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to source and qualify materials for specialized aerospace applications.
- Leadership: Provide training and support to production personnel to ensure proper execution of manufacturing processes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to implement best practices in manufacturing operations.
What You Have- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Approximately 3 years in manufacturing engineering, preferably within the aerospace sector, with a focus on propulsion systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, CATIA), experience with JIRA and Atlassian tools, CAM software and familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Strong understanding of AS9100 standards, ASME drawing standards, aerospace materials, and propulsion system components.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset.
What Will Set You Apart- Experience with Rotating Detonation Rocket Engines (RDRE) or similar advanced propulsion technologies.
- Familiarity with advanced manufacturing and additive manufacturing techniques along with their application in aerospace component production.
- Background in implementing automation systems within manufacturing processes.
