What you'll do:Support the Utilimaster brand by evaluatingtools and equipment process options to reduce operation costs. Obtain necessaryapprovals for investments in machinery and equipment to improve manufacturingand assembly operations. Produce engineering drawings for design fixturing andtooling. Implement lean manufacturing principles such as visual controls, pullinventory systems within a process, workplace organization and continuousimprovement. Provide manufacturing technical support for production operations,which include tooling, fixturing and process troubleshooting, utilizingexisting systems and procedures, as well as investigating new technologies,methods, and processes to improve existing operations. Monitor and correctsafety and ergonomic issues. Support the CI (Continuous Improvement) team todevelop and organize lean events. Actively participate in the WOW (War OnWaste) team and program and assist in the implementation of WOW events. Supportthe NPI (New Product Introduction) process by evaluating new projects fortooling and equipment needs. Drive continuous improvement and eliminate wastein all manufacturing facilities. Aid in workstation load balancing for allmanufacturing areas. Verify, review, and implement torque specifications aswell as high risk part specifications. Track welder certifications and makenecessary adjustments based on requirements. Manage plant and campus layouts,including, but not limited to, production lines and stations, office space, parkinglots, and warehousing. Investigate problems, determine root cause, andimplement corrective and preventative actions by communicating with andassisting cross-functional teams (including quality, engineering, production,materials, and purchasing) to resolve issues. Read current literature, talkwith colleagues, participate in educational programs, attend workshops, orparticipate in professional organizations or conferences to keep abreast ofdevelopments in the manufacturing field. Utilize knowledge of SPS and coreprocedures. Use the following technologies: CAD System (Solidworks), Microsoft Office,Powerbi , and GD&T.
What you need to be successful:Qualified applicants must have atleast a Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a foreign equivalent.
Qualified applicants must have three (3) yearsof post-baccalaureate experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, or substantiallysimilar position, performing the following: 1) Designing anddeveloping process flows, production part approvalprocess (PPAP), control plans; 2) Performingcycle time analysis; 3) performing continuous improvement, processoptimization, and project management; 4) Managing, planning, and executingvarious continuous improvement projects; 5) Implementing lean manufacturingprinciples; and 6) utilizing the following technologies: Power BI, CAD System (Solidworks),GD&T.
