Job Description:

Position Title: Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

Business Unit: Terex Utilities

Location: Watertown, SD

Position Description:

This position will lead a technical team in developing and applying reliable manufacturing engineering methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of manufacturing technical problems. This team member will be able to design and implement new manufacturing methodologies for material handling, machining, welding, paint and installation of products. They will also be required to maintain detailed documentation and effectively communicate with the operations, design and technical support teams. Considerations for safety, quality and delivery are required in all manufacturing engineering decisions. The team member should be able to perform within the principles of Lean Manufacturing, Just-in-Time and Total Quality Management systems/processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed team of Manufacturing Engineers.

  • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFMA) and partner with design teams for New Product Processes.
  • Improve product quality and reduce costs through analysis of production methods, processes, and optimum utilization of personnel.
  • Responsible for project planning, often acting as a liaison between design engineering, operations, and the technical team.
  • Lead Lean and Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste and improve safety and productivity.
  • Requires little or no supervision.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years9 experience as a Manufacturing, Mechanical, orIndustrial Engineer.
  • Prior leadership, supervisoryor management experience
  • Project management experience
  • Demonstrated successimplementing lean principles, tools and methods
  • Toyota Production System knowledge and applicable experience (Preferred)
  • Travel as necessary - potential 15%
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Supports company initiatives as required

Salary: Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
