Genie is seeking a strategic and results-driven Global Category Manager, Electronics & Emerging Technologies to develop and execute sourcing strategies for electronics, controls, connectivity solutions, sensors, power electronics, and emerging technologies supporting current and future product platforms.
Reporting to the Senior Category Manager, this role is responsible for driving supplier performance, cost competitiveness, supply chain resiliency, and technology partnerships across a global supply base. The successful candidate will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, Materials Management, and Product Development teams to support innovation, growth, and operational excellence.
What you'll do- Develop and implement global category strategies for electronics and emerging technologies.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, development, performance management, and strategic relationship management.
- Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing structures, and long-term supplier partnerships.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, suppliers, and market trends that support Terex's innovation roadmap.
- Drive cost reduction, value engineering, localization, productivity, and should-cost initiatives.
- Develop pricing strategies and cost models to maintain market competitiveness.
- Assess supply chain risks and implement mitigation and business continuity plans.
- Support new product introductions, engineering changes, supplier transitions, and footprint optimization initiatives.
- Partner with Engineering and Product Development teams to identify and source best-fit technologies and suppliers.
- Drive supplier development, continuous improvement, and supply chain simplification initiatives.
- Support aftermarket sourcing strategies and cross-functional business objectives.
What you'll bringRequired Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or category management within a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience sourcing electronics, electrical systems, controls, or related technical commodities.
- Proven success negotiating contracts and managing strategic supplier relationships.
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience developing and implementing category strategies with measurable business results.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively across global and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications- MBA, Master's degree, CPSM, CSCP, CPM, or similar certification.
- Experience sourcing electronic components, PCBs, semiconductors, controllers, sensors, displays, or connectivity systems.
- Experience supporting electrification, automation, connectivity, or other advanced technology programs.
- Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes, supply chain dynamics, and technology lifecycles.
- Experience with global supplier networks across North America, Europe, and Asia.
- Understanding of make-versus-buy analysis, supplier capacity planning, and cost modeling.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Strong project management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analytics tools.
Salary: The salary range for this position is $90,400.00 - 148,800.00. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
