Full Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer at Dynapower, Part of Sensata Technologies, evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

This Manufacturing Engineer will train, operate, and report up through the Mechanical Engineering team supporting the Defense segment of the business.

General Responsibilities
• Implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies
• Collaborates with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products
• Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines
• Organizes records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
• Key participant in planning and designing manufacturing processes in an industrial plant
• Organizes the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Additional Responsibilities
  • Participates early in system design phases, including ROMs and RFQs
  • Develops sourcing and manufacturing plans for programs; supports creation of work instructions using SolidWorks Composer
  • Leads expansion of rapid prototyping capabilities (in-house and through contract manufacturing)
  • Collaborates with Quality Control to define first article inspection requirements and plans
  • Drives implementation and training of model-based definition (MBD) within the mechanical team
  • Serves as primary interface with defense suppliers for custom fabricated and specialty COTS components

Base Salary Range:
$79,280.00 - $109,010.00
